Maria's Wild Animals

In "Marias Wild Animals," Maria learns the chaos of babysitting at church. Amid managing lively kids, she discovers the value of rules for happiness and safety. This episode parallels Gods laws with parental guidance, teaching Maria and listeners about harmony and understanding through guidance. BIBLE TEXT: Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:  ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,  you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the Lord had commanded him to speak.  The people all responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” So Moses brought their answer back to the Lord. Water!

In this episode as Mrs. Shue takes her young students on an adventure through the desert with a lesson from the Bible. Learn how the Israelites faced the challenge of finding water and discover the surprising twist at the end of the story. Plus, find out how the Shoebox Kids handle their own thirst on a hot day at the sand dunes. Will they find relief? Listen to find out! BIBLE TEXT:  The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.”Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.  I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.  And he called the place Massah[a https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2017&version=NIV#fen-NIV-1991a] and Meribah[b https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2017&version=NIV#fen-NIV-1991b] because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?” Exodus 17 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2017&version=NIV If you’re interested in any other books published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, please visit adventistbookcenter.com https://bit.ly/3bv7hBj or call 1-800-765-6955. Then she set it afloat in the reeds at the edge of the Nile. The baby’s older sister found herself a vantage point a little way off and watched to see what would happen to him. Pharaoh’s daughter came down to the Nile to bathe; her maidens strolled on the bank. She saw the basket-boat floating in the reeds and sent her maid to get it. She opened it and saw the child—a baby crying! Her heart went out to him. She said, “This must be one of the Hebrew babies.” Then his sister was before her: “Do you want me to go and get a nursing mother from the Hebrews so she can nurse the baby for you?” Pharaoh’s daughter said, “Yes. Dreams Come True

BIBLE TEXT: Ten of Joseph’s brothers went down to Egypt to get food. Jacob didn’t send Joseph’s brother Benjamin with them; he was afraid that something bad might happen to him. So Israel’s sons joined everyone else that was going to Egypt to buy food, for Canaan, too, was hit hard by the famine. Joseph was running the country; he was the one who gave out rations to all the people. When Joseph’s brothers arrived, they treated him with honor, bowing to him. Joseph recognized them immediately, but treated them as strangers and spoke roughly to them. * Genesis 42:3-7 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2042&version=MSG * If you’re interested in any other books published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, please visit adventistbookcenter.com https://bit.ly/3bv7hBj or call 1-800-765-6955. Maria, the Bad Person

Have you ever done something that you instantly regret but find it hard to apologize for because you still believe you are right? In our story today, Maria has a dream that helps her realize that she needed to apologize to her little sister for hurting her. BIBLE TEXT: Jacob left Beersheba and went to Haran. He came to a certain place and camped for the night since the sun had set. He took one of the stones there, set it under his head and lay down to sleep. And he dreamed: A stairway was set on the ground and it reached all the way to the sky; angels of God were going up and going down on it.  Then God was right before him, saying, “I am God, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. I’m giving the ground on which you are sleeping to you and to your descendants. Your descendants will be as the dust of the Earth; they’ll stretch from west to east and from north to south. All the families of the Earth will bless themselves in you and your descendants. Yes. I’ll stay with you, I’ll protect you wherever you go, and I’ll bring you back to this very ground. I’ll stick with you until I’ve done everything I promised you.” Jacob woke up from his sleep. He said, “God is in this place—truly. And I didn’t even know it!” He was terrified. He whispered in awe, “Incredible. Wonderful. Holy. This is God’s House. This is the Gate of Heaven.” https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2028%3A10-17&version=MSG If you’re interested in any other books published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, please visit adventistbookcenter.com https://bit.ly/3bv7hBj or call 1-800-765-6955. Have lied to your mom and dad and then felt super icky afterwards? In our story today, Sammy learns a lesson about telling the truth. BIBLE TEXT: The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.  Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.  He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom. Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”  “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”  But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright." https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2025%3A19-34&version=NIV If you’re interested in any other books published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, please visit adventistbookcenter.com https://bit.ly/3bv7hBj or call 1-800-765-6955. The Perfect Birthday Present

Have you ever needed help finding something and finally thought about praying and asking God for help? In todays story, DeeDee is reminded of the story of Abrahams servant and the prayer that he asked God for help. BIBLE TEXT: The servant took ten of his master’s camels and, loaded with gifts from his master, traveled to Aram Naharaim and the city of Nahor. Outside the city, he made the camels kneel at a well. It was evening, the time when the women came to draw water. He prayed, “O God, God of my master Abraham, make things go smoothly this day; treat my master Abraham well! As I stand here by the spring while the young women of the town come out to get water, let the girl to whom I say, ‘Lower your jug and give me a drink,’ and who answers, ‘Drink, and let me also water your camels’—let her be the woman you have picked out for your servant Isaac. Then I’ll know that you’re working graciously behind the scenes for my master.” It so happened that the words were barely out of his mouth when Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel whose mother was Milcah the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with a water jug on her shoulder. The girl was stunningly beautiful, a pure virgin. She went down to the spring, filled her jug, and came back up. The servant ran to meet her and said, “Please, can I have a sip of water from your jug?” She said, “Certainly, drink!” And she held the jug so that he could drink. When he had satisfied his thirst she said, “I’ll get water for your camels, too, until they’ve drunk their fill.” She promptly emptied her jug into the trough and ran back to the well to fill it, and she kept at it until she had watered all the camels. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2024&version=MSG If you’re interested in any other books published by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, please visit adventistbookcenter.com https://bit.ly/3bv7hBj or call 1-800-765-6955.
