Helen Walden grew up in a NSW Country town, the youngest of 3 born to English migrants who grew up in London during World War 2. After a short stint as a naval officer, Helen joined IBM and the high life of the corporate world. At the age of 32 all that changed when she was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and was told she was not expected to live for more than 18 months. This is the story of how Helen extended her life for another 27 years, finally receiving a liver transplant in 2021 at the height of the COVID pandemic.

The book is about the history of housing for aboriginal people in Australia, in particular the South Eastern Aboriginal Regional Management Service (SEARMS) https://www.searms.com.au/ and was written with Uncle Tom Slockee who founded SEARMS in 2003 and is still the Chairman. The Panel discussion was lead by Perrie Crowshaw, president of the Friends of Kiama Library and included Dr Tony Gilmour, Tom Slockee and Kim Sinclair, CEO of SEARMS since 2018.
