Hours Before Betrayal Jesus, our Passover Lamb, prepared His table for us! It was not an ordinary table. It was not an everyday table. It was not a general use table. He prepared a table of Remembrance, where we would partake in His Holy Communion and fellowship with Him. The day before His crucifixion, He prepared a table and washed His disciples’ feet! His last day here on earth in bodily form, He was focused on us! Jesus knew He was going to die a horrific death, yet His preparations were for our well-being! Matthew 26:26 … “Take and eat; this is My body.” Matthew 26:28 “For this is My body of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Hours before the crucifixion He sat with His disciples on Thursday and modeled the intimacy of fellowship. Good Friday It is Finished! John 19:30 It is done. It is accomplished. It has been paid in full. Our debt has been paid. Our penalty was removed. With His last breath the veil was torn from top to bottom. The veil has been removed. The invitation for a relationship has been extended.

Resurrection Week – Day Three – Foot Washing John 13:4 "Jesus rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself." John 13:5 "After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded." Washing of feet was necessary because of travel on dirt roads. The servants washed the feet of those who entered the house. They were considered the lowest servants. Jesus modeled servanthood. He came not as one to be served but to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Resurrection Week – Day Two – The Last Supper God’s holy requirements under the Old Testament, were forever satisfied through Christ’s crucifixion, as Jesus instituted the Lord’s supper. Jesus used the Passover meal to inaugurate the New Covenant. The bread that symbolizes His body and the cup which symbolizes His blood are to be remembered as Christ’s redemptive sacrifice to set sinners free from eternal damnation. Many want victory before the cross, but true victory comes after the resurrection. “Behold your King is coming to you, lowly and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.” Matthew 21:5 Jesus of Nazareth, our Victorious King, was en route to the cross, for only in His death and resurrection can we have eternal life, true freedom, the greatest victory!

Does God Grant Selfish Requests? Yes. He also allows the consequences to follow. If you insist on a manner in your life that could be against the clear will of God, He may grant that request, but you will never be the same because it will come at a cost. The Israelites insisted on a king. God granted their selfish request. Everyone suffered. 1 Samuel 8:22 The Israelites insisted on meat because they were tired of the manna. God sent them qual. God granted their selfish request, but it cost many of them their lives. Numbers 11:33&34 You see this same cycle today in the church. Called to be holy yet running wild. Asking amiss because their hearts are full of selfish ambition. Remember, the permission of God may not be the will of God. 1 Samuel 15:22 To obey is better than sacrifice. Today we have many leaders in church who have forgotten to walk holy and have lost their fear of God. The shame that is brought upon the name of our Lord is grievous and the world stands back and laughs at the church. God is allowing un-repented sin to surface, with the current news of IHOPKC and its founder and leader Mike Bickle and the sexual scandal that has come out. Leaders & teachers in the church are held to a higher accountability and will give an account for every idle word spoken. James 3:1 “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment”. Matthew 12:36 “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” We as the body of Christ, are called to walk holy, not resembling the world.
