Our Lord emphasized the value of the church. In the fifth kingdom parable. Christ taught that Israel is God's treasure. Israel rejected her Messiah and was hidden, or set aside, for a time. This sixth kingdom parable allows us to see that God's work was not finished when Christ was rejected by the Jews. His work in this world continues through His church. The church is this "one pearl of great price."

The light is going out in our nation. The great influence of America is diminishing. The only hope we have as a nation is for revival. If we are not going to lift high the banner of Christ and be an example of godliness for the world, we will have no light to shine. The light that is left is the lift found in Bible-preaching churches. And of course, the light that is left is the light in Christian homes. May God help each of us determine to have a Christian home.

A Christian home is a home where people are living their faith each day. Many people who are Christians do not have Christian homes because they are not putting the things God has instructed into their homes. In this lesson, we will learn that God's Word gives us the ingredients of a Christian home and tells us the responsibilities of each individual in that home.

The Bible says that God has made us spirit, soul, and body. God has designed that marriage be more than a unity; it is to be a union. This union is not to be just a oneness in body, but a oneness in spirit, soul, and body. The spiritual union that we have with God and one another is of greatest importance; it lays the foundation for everything else. Let us look to God's Word and find the things that will help us to establish this union.

There are times when it appears as if the foundations have been destroyed. Do not be troubled. It only appears to be so. David faced such a time in his life as a young man in the palace of Saul. The leader of Israel was not doing right, and it seemed as if the foundations were destroyed. David learned not to trust in the king of Israel but rather in the King of heaven. He knew that God Almighty was still on His throne.

Some people state that God will never give us more than we can handle. That is not what vs. 13 says. God will give us more than we can handle, but with it give us a way of escape. Our lives are simplified when we accept God's conclusion concerning life. He says, "Fear God and keep his commandments." We can know what God desires for us because we have His Word. We must simply fear Him and do what He would have us to do. This is the conclusion of the whole matter.

In the last chapter of the Ecclesiastes, a sermon about life, God directs our attention to the subject of death. Unless the Lord Jesus comes in our lifetime, we are all going to face death. Our bodies will return to the earth, and we will go to meet God. We must make preparation for eternity. As we consider how quickly our years are passing by, we should realize that the time to live for the Lord is now. Let us not waste another day.
This is message 10 in 1 Corinthians 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 The principle to follow to keep peace and settle disputes is to take the wrong. Pride blows up so many relationships. If we allow people to be wrong, or allow us to be wrong, things won't blow up so much. What is wrong with allowing people to be wrong? Why do we have the need to always be right? Can we trust God to work on people and the circumstances? God can do a better job teaching and convincing someone than we can.
