What is a lukewarm Christian?

A lukewarm Christian is someone who claims to be a believer in Jesus but does not appear to be committed to Christ, may occasionally attend church, rarely reads the Bible, and dabbles in the sinful things of the world. Such so-called Christians appear to be Christians in name only but are most probably false converts. Revelation 3:15–16 https://biblia.com/bible/nasb95/Rev%203.15%E2%80%9316, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”

You Are Precious in the sight of God

2. Isaiah 49:16 "See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. 3. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." 4. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." 6. Psalm 139:13-16 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." 7. Psalm 100 "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

BURNING HEART'S

Luke 24:32..And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? These two disciples had left their companions after Peter’s return from the sepulchre and before Mary Magdalene hurried in with her tidings that she had seen Jesus. Their coming away at such a crisis, like Thomas’s absence that day, shows that the scattering of the sheep was beginning to follow the smiting of the shepherd. The magnet withdrawn, the attracted particles fall apart. What arrested that process? Why did not the spokes fall asunder when the centre was removed? John’s disciples crumbled away after his death. When Theudas fell, all his followers ‘were dispersed’ and came to nought. The Church was knit more closely together after the death that, according to all analogy, should have scattered it. Only the fact of the Resurrection explains the anomaly. No reasonable men would have held together unless they had known that their Messianic hopes had not been buried in Christ’s grave. We see the beginnings of the Resurrection of these hopes in this sweet story.

Spiritual Termites in Your Soul

Termites live in large colonies and have a strong organizational structure. In the spiritual world, they carry an omen that might interest you. This is why you are reading this. Psalm 11:3 3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Pay attention to the spiritual world Whenever a termite bites you, another shade of message speaks about paying attention to the spiritual world. When you find out that termites bite you everywhere, it means that you are not paying enough attention to the spiritual signs around you.

Waxing Cold

Jesus prophesies, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12 https://www.bibletools.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/bible.show/sVerseID/23970/eVerseID/23970). In some areas of the nation, chaos and anarchy already approach the level of “lawlessness,” and the exasperation of many Americans is putting them on the verge of fulfilling the second half of this prophecy.

Born for Battle

Your victory is closest to you than before, because you are born to win. However, there is something too strong for the devil to break in you and that is what determines your victory in all areas of life. It is the God-kind of life in you, which begins with new birth.1 John 4:4 https://www.sermoncentral.com/sermons/scripture/sermons-on-1-john-4-4?keyword=1+John+4%3A4 __ ____- Life is a battle fight, and everyone who must succeed, must put up a fight to get it. Love That Grows

The Bible makes clear that God really wants us to pray and that He really wants to answer our prayers. But when it comes down to it, what do we really pray for? Typically we pray concerning that which is in front of us, the temporal, the physical, the tangible. We pray for safety, we pray for health, we pray for guidance. We pray for things we need, things we want, things that we think we deserve. To be clear, that’s not wrong, because God wants us to present all our requests to Him. But we see Paul pray differently. "And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment." He is praying for their love to grow. Out of all the things that he could wish for, out of all the temporal things he could pray for, Paul prays for their love to abound. He is praying for a love for God and love for each other. Paul has a high view of love here. He is not simply referring to a feeling, receiving kind of love. Paul has in view a love that resembles Christ’s love.Heb. 12 kjv Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. God Gave Them Over

God's judgment against sin involves His delivering us into the hands of our own desires! First, in verse 24, Paul has just explained to us, in 21-23, how people suppress the truth and unrighteousness. Now, Paul is going to reveal to us the consequences of suppressing the truth in unrighteousness. Look at what he says, therefore, God gave them over in the lust of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. In other words, Paul says that God’s judgment against sin involves His delivering us into the hands of our own desires. We see God’s hand of judgment against sin, when we see Him withdrawing the restraints in our society against that sin and that sin beginning to work itself out in our conduct individually and corporately. Paul is saying that in and of itself is a judgment against sin.

A Nation Possessed

Matthew 28:19, 20 Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Mark 16 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

WHEN GOD APPROACHES MAN

1. God will personally approach you. God invites people to a life of faith. There’s no mistaking who is speaking. He came to Noah He came to Abram in our text He came to Jacob at Bethel He came to Moses at the burning bush He came to Samuel, Gideon and on and on we could go. When God has a plan, He comes to you and invites you to enter into a life of faith. 2. It will be Him that initiates this new life. When He calls, we answer. When He leads, we follow. When He commands, we obey. When He speaks, we listen. II. The Reality of the Life of Faith – vs. 1 Unexpected instruction – 75 years old – not just the young and restless; sometimes it’s the old and comfortable Unfamiliar territory – get out; the biggest demonstration of faith is LEAVING; OR CHANGE Unknown destination – unto a land that I will show you; He doesn’t always let you take a survey trip III. The Reward of the Life of Faith – vs. 2 You will receive a blessing Christians underestimate the blessings of God that accompany living by faith. You will be a blessing Because you followed God, and obeyed His leadership, and trusted Him, He can use you to be a huge blessing to others.

Sheltered in the Arms of God

psalm 91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The Importance of Faith

Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
