There's a few reasons we love doing this podcast. One of the biggest, hanging out with Matty. I don't think anyone makes us laugh harder than him, especially when he doesn't really like a mix. Weird mix, great time, bite sized as well!
First timer Cam is here! And he brought a grip of mixes he made when he was young and awkward. We told him mixes he made yesterday aren't what we're looking for, he told us to screw ourselves, now here we go!
This one has almost as many hitz as Karl had beers, something that becomes more and more obvious the longer this one goes. At least there was a four person panel. Covers up some of the nonsense. Enjoy!
Come on along! Learn, laugh and love with 2 guys that really know hip hop history and one guy that nods along a bunch. Always a good time when Matty stops by.
Ethan joins us to speak on this absolute banger of a list. Outlaws, guitar heroes, general badasses, it's all here.
Gus is back to talk about this absolute banger from, you guessed it, Nov 2010. Unless the mix maker had some really odd way to label mixes, then who the hell knows......
Gus joins us once again to dissect a somewhat confusing mix. How sheeze is it? Why is it? Is it for someone? If Sheeze is a person, we're sorry, and so is the mix maker.
Our friend Evan joins us once again to celebrate long hair, ripped jeans and squealy guitars. And that was before we even had this mix! What a time we had.
This is the great one. We also have a mix of the same name! Crazy! We saved the best for the monumental occasion of episode 200, but they couldn't show up so we got some asshat last second. Turned out pretty good despite him. Cheers!
Our friend Quillan helps us get real introspective about this early 2000's melange. We didn't mean to get so deep on his first visit, but we're not sorry. Cheers!
Like yourself, I'm sure, we just assumed this was the world of warcraft soundtrack. Wow were we wrong. First timer Gus is here to help guide us back to Azeroth.
Nelson comes along to see what we can gleam from this cube. Rock, stuff disguised as rock, 80's, stuff disguised as 80's, good stuff, stuff disguised as.... well you get it. Cheers!
Our FOUR person panel this week has many annoyingly hot takes, everyone hates Karl, we argue over which Canadian icons suck and for what reasons and our Australian friend is confused for a good portion of the evening. Cheers!!
Podcast favorite Evan returns to be subjected to a little bit of everything, for better or worse. We do our best to convince him he's having a good time, but he remained steadfastly unsure.
We discuss some of our favorite songs of the season after having a little cheer before hand. Merry Happy ya filthy animals!!
Mandy stops by to make this magical christmas mix even more magical. That is all. Magic.
Right from the get-go, this lives up to it's name, she heavy, she hits. First timer Nate got the honor of hearing this banger bonanza first, and we were glad to have him for the ride.
As winter creeps in, we can't help but reminisce about the warm wind in our hair, great jams on the radio, other cliches, anything that might take our minds off how creepy this mix turned out sounding. Thanks to Marc for ruining the good vibes we thought we got from it originally. Bastard.
These songs are sappy, we looked it up, it's true. Thank god we have each other, some drinks, and our senses of humor to guide us through the cheese that lays within. Shout out Celine Dion.
We made Jade's week when we said we had a metal mix for him, then we showed him what was on it and he swore he'd never speak to us again. We did calm him down long enough to get this episode recorded at least. Sorry again Jade, love ya bud.
The mind of Matty guides us through the eras and the charts in this blast from the hip hop past. This episode is red state Karl approved!
The only thing random about this is the choice of songs and the title. Everything else, totally normal. Join us as we chat about things just as random and laugh at very regular intervals.
Here's one from the wayback machine. Never previously heard (probably recorded between episodes 15 and 25?), back when Graham was still our friend, and the one and only time we've had four people in the room! Mikey, the friend that keeps on friending was in the house for this glorious evening that we had a most unusual mix to dissect.
What is hard core? It brings to mind many things, some of which are actually on this mix. Matty helps us sift through the ones that may not qualify as such. Cheers!
This episode is special in many ways. The content, the guest, the amount of laughs we shared. Please enjoy, we surely did.
Once again we're back for the CKXU University of Lethbridge fundrive episode. This years theme, bubble gum! What makes you think of bubble gum? Cheap, disposable, but delicious and memorable, definitely nothing in common with the post secondary experience whatsoever. Anyhoo, they're running a sick station over there, so call 403-329-5189 to donate, or go to CKXU.com/pledge to help out some amazing folks!! Cheers
Legend in all our minds, Josh, comes out to play and talk about the laziest way to title a cd, short of not at all. Enjoy this one, then hot on it's heals, enjoy Taylor's version even more. (she'll do it better, I'm sure)
Come for the hazing, stay for the binge drinking, and probably more hazing. Grab a cold Natty light and settle in.
In our Nu-est episode, Mandy returns to talk about the love of all things loud and 20 years old, thankfully, most of those are music
Jack joins us for this mix that we can only attribute to "Amanda". We don't know much else about it, but bring your jukebox and play this to the one for which you pine, and we're sure, times as good as our review will follow.
