David also shares the business journey of his father who started his first soccer specific apparel and sporting goods store, Soccer Master in 1978. Santiago Beltran, fresh from a three week visit to Puerto Rico, joins Tom and Ted in studio. We almost didn't recognize him with a full, jet black beard! Our phone guests were having trouble hearing us in studio, so the conversations were rough and at times comical. Edmundo, who was at home warm and cozy, decided to come in studio to lend another voice when Fox2 and CW11 anchor Jordan Williams had car troubles. Ted reports on the 5 hour broadcast of the NWSL college entry draft from Friday night, which was broadcast LIVE on the ION network. ION (part of Scripps Sports) is one of four platforms that will broadcast NWSL matches during the 2024 season. The other three are Paramount/CBS, Prime Video, and ESPN. Today's show was rough until we figured out that our phone guests could not hear us, but provided for lots of laughs and reinforced the "utterly ridiculous nature of the show."

Dave Lange in studio for hour #2 with Tom, Edmundo, Russell and Ted to talk about his new book that is available for pre-order called "Year One: St. Louis CITY SC". (https://www.reedypress.com/shop/year-one/) Dave describes it as yearbook that is heavy on photos. STL City SC was very accomodating on this effort and Dave describes the photography as spectacular. We also discussed the decision by MLS commissioner Gene Garber to have MLS Next Pro teams participate in the US Open Cup. The group also discussed the prospects of the STL City SC ownership group aquiring an NWSL franchise. The show will beginning its 14th year in the year 2024.
