In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com http://talltaletv.com/ ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. PLEASE HOLD Mervin Butterfield is about to assassinate his rival for top mob boss in Neo Angeles. Nothing is going to stop him taking out the competition - except for his rival doing the exact same thing to him. Even worse, his rival is using a smart bullet: a weapon that will keep on coming until it gets him. Mervin can't decide what's worse: the relentless killing machine hot on his heels or the cheeful tackiness of the Little England tourist area where he's making his last stand. No, it's definitely the tourist area. Mike Morgan was born in London, but not in any of the interesting parts. He moved to Japan at the age of 30 and lived there for many years. Nowadays, he's based in Iowa, and enjoys family life with his wife and two young children. If you like his writing, be sure to check out his website: https://PerpetualStateofMildPanic.wordpress.com. Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com http://talltaletv.com/ ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. SCHEHERAZADE'S LAST TALE Most of the beautiful stories do not have beautiful endings, because destiny is stronger than love. Born in Cuba, Matias Travieso-Diaz migrated to the United States as a young man to escape political persecution. He became an engineer and lawyer and practiced for nearly fifty years. After retirement, he took up creative writing. About ninety of his short stories have been published or accepted for publication in anthologies and paying magazines, blogs, audio books and podcasts. Some of his unpublished works have also received "honorable mentions" from several paying publications. A first collection of his stories, “The Satchel and Other Terrors” has recently been released and is available on Amazon and other book outlets. Visit him online at https://twitter.com/mtravies (@mtravies) and https://mtravies.wixsite.com/mysite.
