Honoring our Global Partner on International Women's Day

The latest episode of the Defender podcast delves into the celebration of International Women's Day by highlighting the work of Global Orphan Care Partner in Pakistan. The episode sheds light on Christina and her husband Hanoch's incredible journey, where they answered God's call to serve in Pakistan and set up a comprehensive ministry that caters to the needs of the vulnerable in the country. GUEST Christina, alongside her husband Hanoch, answered God's call to serve in Pakistan, transitioning from their previous life in the UK. Despite the known challenges and Christina's health concerns, they stepped out on faith, moving to Pakistan in 2012. In their dedicated service, they established a robust ministry, comprising 60 churches, 6 schools, 22 sewing schools, 4 safe homes for vulnerable children, Sunday school outreach, women's transformation initiatives, a dignity project, a medical health center, a training center, and ongoing construction of a Mission Outreach Center. Zach, alongside his wife Becca and their two daughters, embraced a full-time RV lifestyle in 2022, responding to a clear whisper from the Lord. Karla and Jana share the evolving landscape of international adoption as we enter 2024, delving into changes over the past five to six years and addressing factors contributing to the overall decline in adoption numbers worldwide. Looking forward, they discuss what's on the horizon for Lifeline in 2024, as well as provide valuable advice for families considering international adoption and offers insights for those who feel a calling to care for waiting children without adopting. The episode concludes with a focus on the power of prayer, inviting listeners to join in praying for the success and impact of Lifeline's international adoption ministry. GUESTS Karla Thrasher has served as Lifeline's Director of International Adoption since 2001. As a TBRI® Practitioner certified by the TCU Karen Purvis Institute, she manages daily operations, provides leadership, and coordinates with other departments to enhance services for waiting children and families. Karla's role includes government compliance, customer service, and quality assurance. She finds great honor in sharing the gospel through adoption. Karla is a graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham and a licensed social worker. Karla is supported by her husband Jamie and three adult children.
