Engels holds a PhD in philosophy and is a past participant in The Sanctuary’s Path of the Warrior course. She is currently a philosophy professor at Molloy University as well as the Director of Research and Development at the John E. Mack Institute. She has taught courses on the Phenomenology of UFOs/UAP through the Society for UAP Studies, as well as courses on Native American philosophy at her university. Her academic research centers on the lived experience of individuals who report UAP encounters, as well as ET contact, as an ongoing lived reality in Native American societies and cultures. In the Summer of 2023, she conducted a formal study of individuals who reported contact with non-human intelligences (NHIs), and how such experiences had influenced their beliefs, values, and worldviews. This research suggested that UAP/UFO encounters are deeply intertwined with contact with non-ordinary realities and new paradigms for understanding consciousness.

It's a foggy morning with a new moon above the land of The Sanctuary. Big energy shift, do you feel it? My dreams were wild and empowering. But how comfortable are we to truly embrace the darkness? These activities have led to the depletion of natural resources, the destruction of habitats and ecosystems, and the release of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. As a result, we are witnessing the loss of biodiversity, the collapse of ecosystems, and the degradation of soil and water quality. Societally, we are facing numerous challenges as well. Income inequality, poverty, and discrimination are pervasive in many parts of the world, leading to social unrest and conflict. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has further exposed and exacerbated these issues, leaving many people vulnerable and struggling to survive. In terms of civilization collapse, it is important to note that there is no single, widely agreed-upon definition of this term. Some experts argue that we are currently experiencing a slow collapse of our social and political systems due to factors such as economic instability, political polarization, and the erosion of trust in institutions. Others argue that civilization collapse would entail a more rapid and catastrophic breakdown of our infrastructure and way of life. Regardless of the terminology, it is clear that our planet is facing significant environmental and social challenges that require urgent attention and action from individuals, communities, governments, and organizations worldwide. The Poor Prole’s Almanac is a project dedicated to developing a framework for an ecology-centered vision of the world after capitalism inevitably collapses. Our focus is to make ecology and agriculture accessible, replicable locally, and to highlight examples of resilience in history & people actively developing those systems in real time.
