It’s our last show for the year, so we thought we’d look back on some of our highlights from 2023. Max heads to Ballarat to get the latest from the club ahead of a massive Sportsbet-Ballarat Cup Day this weekend, plus we preview the final Group 1 of the year - the Northerly Stakes. Felix is back and our beloved Nic Ashman joins us live from Sydney so tune in for plenty of winners and plenty of laughs for the final time this year!
For our penultimate episode of the year, Max returns to Living Legends while our own living legends find you some winners at Caulfield and the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes in Perth! With our beloved Nic Ashman still amiss, we called the funniest guy we knew to take his place, and when he wasn't available we asked Felix Von Hofe to join us. With the finish line in sight on what has been another amazing Spring Carnival, it's time to head West and switch our focus to the Group 1 Railway Stakes. It’s Thousand Guineas Day this weekend, as the best three-year-old fillies compete in the time-honoured race. Can Skybird extend her picket fence? Or will the dangerous duo of McDonald and Waller finally get Joliestar to stop its Tom Melbourne tribute act, and finally finish one-better? The money has been strong for the sprinters in the Sir Rupert Clarke, but the team are split as to whose hitting their peak and who is tapering off. It’s been a big Melbourne Cup week for the team but we’re all about looking forwards not backwards on Three Wide, No Cover! The final day of the Flemington Carnival is Champions day so we’ve assembled our own champions (and Max) to preview the three Group 1s. Imperatriz and In Secret will be fighting out the Champions Sprint, Fangirl and Alligator Blood take on Three Wide’s favourite horse Mr Brightside in the Champions Mile, and West Wind Blows takes on SD’s new favourite horse Prowess in the Champions Stakes! It's that time of the week again and Nic Ashman has shared much more then any of us bargained for! It’s Cox Plate weekend and the team are more fizzed-up than a SodaStream at the World Carbonation Conference. There are plenty of Cox Plate hot takes – the team are backing a few runners with Nic and Max making the case for some runners at odds. We get the inside word from Lindsay Park insider Grace, as to how Mr B pulled up after his trip to Sydney and whether she’s feeling confident. The team get knee deep into Vow and Declare’s form for absolutely no reason. Before the Quiz brings its usual chaotic nonsense. Nic gives us an update on Through The Roof’s runners and the team give their best for Around The Country!
It's Caulfield Cup weekend and Grace is back in the host seat. The team's tips have been absolutely flying, but can they hold their form as they hit the biggest races of the Spring? Laz was a late-out this week, after travel turmoil hit Sydney airport. Cramming his size 14 feet into the Larry's size 11s, however is Felix Von Hofe. It's fair the say the ensuing show was somewhat on the loose side. However, the team did manage to summon a modicum of professionalism, and preview the biggest races at Flemington this week. The team analyse a sneaky-loaded Turnbull Stakes field, before Larry brings his late news via Zoom. The panel take a look at the Gilgai, where Star Patrol looks to be the one to beat according to Grace and Nic. An open Edward Manifold sees the team divided -- with everyone finding their own fave, before the team alight on a long-odds runner in the Edward Manifold. All that and a whole heap more in 48 minutes of abject chaos, pretending to be a horse racing show.
Well, well, well, -- what a week of tipping the team had last time out. SD, Grace, Nic and Max tipped heaps of winners at ridiculous odds. The team managed to find winners at $36, $28, $22, $11 and $8 bucks! Can they back it up this week? Well, it's a massive weekend of sporting action -- and the Three Wide panel are fizzzzzzing! The team's focus heads up north to Sydney, as we delve into an intriguing card at Royal Randwick. There's a surprising amount of consensus this week -- with the team aligning on a heap of runners. Max heads to the Ballarat races to learn how to handle a shovel. SD defends his title in the chaotic quiz. Three Wide, is back, and everyone know this baby always performs second up. The team have the Waterhouse and Both mail on Alligator Blood, Grace gets brought down to Earth after the team detect a hint of hubris as she discusses yet another Group 1 win for Mr Brightside. And things go from bad to worse for Princess Grace, after her attitude to losing somewhat sours the quiz. SD face holes come into question, yet again and the team dish out, what are sure to be a bunch of decent tips.
Spring is springing and the good horses are back! And so is the greatest horse racing show in the history human civilisation! Dear viewers we know you've been beside yourselves without Three Wide, No Cover and its chaotic blend of horse racing and (-10 out of 10) comedy -- well, fear not gentle punters, Grace, SD, Max and Larry have assembled around the perspex circle of dreams to expound with enthusiasm and elan on the sport of kings: the racing of thoroughbred horses! The team take a deep dive into the Makybe Diva Stakes, before taking a look at the Let's Elope and the Bobbie Lewis before heading to Sydney to cast their eyes across some stellar fields in some big money races. All that plus Nic has new segment (and a persistent cough), Max and SD take to the golf course to analyse SD's Spring blackbook and a whole lot more.
TWNC is going for a richly deserved spell following a mammoth campaign, and the team are looking to go out in winning fashion. After a mammoth tipping performance last week, the pressure is on. Nic has got his eye in north of the border, and is keen on a non-Aussie runner in the King Stand. Max and SD have their last Darebet of the year, and the team conclude Max's Quiz, with everything hanging in the balance.
It's Australasian Oaks Day, and the team are up and about -- in Nic's case, probably too up and about after the great man got into a bit of a fracas in his local watering hole, and is thence sporting a lovely shiner. Grace returns from wherever it was Grace was, we'd assume somewhere posh and exclusive. Max lost last week's Darebet and SD's challenge was the most embarrassing yet... Nic The Cashman Ashman is baaaack! And the great man is going from the frying pan into the fire -- stepping into the impeccably well-heeled shoes of Grace Ramage to host the show. Felix Von Hofe is back as well, giddy from his success last week after tipping a $40 place on Saturday Contenders. The team deep dive into all the best racing across the nation -- and, if Ashman can have a positive week, the team might actually end the season with all four tipsters well in the green. It's been an extraordinarily difficult week for the racing community following the tragic passing of Dean Holland in a race fall at Donald. The team begin this week's show by reflecting on Dean's immense contribution to racing and seek to add to the support the industry has provided to Dean's love ones. The team then preview the Australasian Oaks and The Chairman's from Morphettville, before heading to Sandown to preview the best races on the card.

The team however, start south of the border, previewing a moutherwatering All Star Mile from Moonee Valley. Nic tipped the winner of the Adelaide Cup at $41 during the week, and the Cashman reckons he's found one at $71 who could run a drum in Sydney. But before all that SD pays tribute to one of the titans of the racing industry, Deane Lester, who sadly passed away overnight.
