In 1971 the company shifted direction and became famous for producing licensed action figures, including, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, Wizard of Oz, Moonraker, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Black Hole, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Starting in 2019, Mego created action figures from the iconic Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan movie. In 2020 Mego launched new waves of action figures and products with the help of Dr. Mego (Paul Clarke) to a wide audience via Target Corporation stores around the United States. Majel Barrett-Roddenberry was an American actress and producer best known for her roles as various characters in the Star Trek franchise: Nurse Christine Chapel (in the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, and two films of the franchise), Number One (also in the original series), Lwaxana Troi (on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and the voice of most onboard computer interfaces throughout the series from 1966 to 2023. She married Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry in 1969. As his wife she is referred to as "the First Lady of Star Trek". WizKids has just announced a new Star Trek based tabletop miniatures game, STAR TREK INTO THE UNKNOWN, the game will feature starship miniatures, and focus on game objectives, missions and starship combat. Not much is known at this time, but we will discuss what we do know, and share our hopes for the game. Gale Force 9, also has released a new Star Trek game, AWAY MISSION: WOLF 359, this game features away teams made up of Locutus, Riker, Gowron, and Sela.
