We're back in the cinema for the 34th MCU movie The Marvels. The funny and action filled team up between Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and Photon. SYNOPSIS FOR OUR THE MARVELS 2023 REVIEW Written by: Nia DaCosta Directed by: Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik The collapse of the Supreme Intelligence leads to a civil war among the Kree species in their home world of Hala. The conflict renders the planet barren as it loses its air, water, and their sun begins to die. Dar-Benn, the new leader of the Kree, retrieves one half of the Quantum Bands, of which Kamala Khan has the other half. Dar-Benn harnesses the power of the Band, and pairs it with her staff, Universal Weapon, to tear apart a jump point in space with the aim of stripping the resources required from planets linked to The Annihilator, aka Carol Danvers, to repair her home world of Hala. The resulting anomaly is discovered by the Strategic Aerospace, Biophysics and Exolinguistic Response or S.A.B.E.R. Meanwhile, Nick Fury, now residing at the S.A.B.E.R. space station calls in Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau to investigate a jump point anomaly near the space station. When Rambeau touches it, she, Danvers, and Khan switch places through teleportation. The switching causes the three to fight each others' Kree enemies, leaving the Khans' house destroyed in their wake. As the three women return to their original places, Fury and Rambeau visit Khan on Earth. As Khan eagerly demonstrates her powers, she switches places with Danvers. The group surmises that the light-based powers of Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms Marvel are linked through quantum entanglement, and that they switch places when any of them use their powers at the same time. The three join up at a Skrull refugee colony on the planet Tarnax, where talks of resettlement have dissolved. Dar-Benn rips open another jump point, which siphons the atmosphere of Tarnax into Hala to try and restore its air. After a hasty effort to evacuate the colony, Danvers, Rambeau, and Kamala form a team informally referred to by Kamala as "the Marvels". Danvers informs the others of the legend that the Quantum Bands had been used to create the jump point transportation network; the three became entangled due to their mutual contact with its energy when Dar-Benn disrupted it, with Dar-Benn's repeated rupturing of jump points causing instability to the network and endangering the universe. Dar-Benn reaches the planet Aladna, where she tears open a jump point to draw the ocean water into Hala. Her final plan is to take the energy of Earth's sun to restore that of Hala. The Marvels fight and subdue Dar-Benn, but she steals Kamala's Band and uses both bracelets in conjunction to tear open another hole in space. The effort in doing so destroys Dar-Benn and leaves behind an opening into the multiverse. After Khan reclaims the Bands, she and Danvers use their combined powers to energize Rambeau, allowing her to close the hole from the other side, but leaving her stranded in the process in the other universe. Danvers flies into Hala's sun and uses her power to restore it. The short-lived team-up with Danvers and Rambeau inspires Kamala to seek out other heroes and form a new group, starting with Kate Bishop. In a mid-credits scene, Monica Rambeau awakes in a parallel universe where she is greeted by an alternate version of her mother Maria (Binary) and the mutant Hank McCoy aka Beast of The X-Men. We chat all about the finale of Loki Season 2 "Glorious Purpose" in spoiler filled detail. An epic and poetic end to the show and the character after 14 years of adventures in the MCU. Despite his attempts, the Loom always fails as it cannot scale up to accommodate the infinite branches. Loki slips again, this time to the moment before Sylvie kills He Who Remains, who tells Loki that the Loom is a fail-safe; overloading it protects the Sacred Timeline by deleting the branches along with the TVA. Loki tries to stop Sylvie from killing He Who Remains over and over again but to no avail. As he attempts to stop Sylvie again, He Who Remains freezes her and tells Loki there is only one way to save the Loom is to kill Sylvie, which Loki rejects. After speaking with Mobius and Sylvie at different moments in time, Loki replaces Victor Timely and goes out into the temporal radiation to destroy the Loom. As the timelines begin to wither Loki uses his magic to revive the dying timelines. Pulling the branches together as he makes his way to He Who Remains’ throne, he arranges them into a branching structure resembling the Worlds Tree. Sitting atop of time on the throne of He Who Remains he commits himself to overseeing the branches in solitude at the End of Time. The TVA accepts the growing branches and now tracks He Who Remains' variants, with Mobius reporting one of them has been stopped at Earth-616's "adjacent realm". B-15 becomes one of the TVA's leaders. Ouroboros reactivates a now-friendly Miss Minutes and writes a new TVA Guidebook with Timely as co-author. In 1863, Victor Timely does not receive the TVA Guidebook. Renslayer awakens in the Void and encounters Alioth. Mobius retires from the TVA. He meets Sylvie at his home and observe Don and his children for a few moments. As Sylvie leaves him behind, Mobius says he’s going to stay a little while longer. We've reached the penultimate episode the season as we discuss Loki 205 Science/Fiction. A bit of a roundabout episode and set up for the finale but with some absolutely beautiful moments. Derek and John chat all about it in Spoiler Filled detail. As he explores the building trying to locate any of his friends he begins time slipping again where he meets a later version of himself, as the TVA headquarters, now with a failsafe initiated by a rudimentary Miss Minutes, begins to break down and spaghettify around him. Loki escapes as he time slips to numerous branched timelines at different times where one by one he meets his former friends Casey, Hunter B-15, Mobius and O.B. who have been reset to their original lives as Frank Morris, Dr. Verity Willis, Don and Dr. A.D. Doug respectively. But none of them have any knowledge of the TVA nor any recollection of Loki. But Dr A. D Doug aka O.B does believe his story and is willing to help Loki time slip to the TVA before the explosion to try and prevent the catastrophic events from happening. But Loki is unable to control his time slipping. Doug proposes Loki gather everyone present at the explosion back together. He theorises that their collective temporal aura may hold the key to sending them back to the right time and place. Doug builds a rudimentary TemPad using a TVA Guidebook that Loki kept. Loki succeeds in gathering everyone else to Doug's workshop except Sylvie, who has retained her memories. At a bar over a couple of bourbons, Sylvie refuses to help Loki, as she just wants to live her own life, and she gets Loki to admit his true motivation: he wants his friends back and fears being alone. Sylvie leaves the bar heading to her local record shop as Loki heads back to inform Doug, Don, Frank and Verity that they are no longer needed. But when everything in Sylvie's timeline begins to spaghettify, she goes to help Loki, but no sooner there, Doug's workshop also spaghettifies as the branched timelines begin to die, as do Frank, Doug, Don, Dr Willis and Sylvie. As Sylvie disappears Loki finally controls his time-slipping, returning to the point she arrived. Declaring that he can "rewrite the story", Loki focuses on what he really wants and time slips back to the TVA Headquarters at the point just before Victor Timely disappeared. As Cate and Sam return to the Woods to free the remaining captives before leading them in a killing spree on non-Supes across campus, no associate professor of media is safe. At the same time Marie, Jordan, and Emma attempt to contain the chaos emerging across campus. By chance Vought CEO Ashley Barrett is at Godolkin University for a meeting with the trustees on how to spin Luke's suicide as well as addressing the declining applications and poor grades at the university. But very rapidly saving their own lives is added as an emergency AoB to their agenda as they request the assistance of Homelander with the vengeful supes make their way closer to Ashley, Bourke and the trustees. As Marie helps to contain some of the mess she demonstrates increased mastery of her blood powers taking down a Cate-controlled Maverick and one of the escaped supes. Meanwhile, Sam suffers a crisis of conscience about his part in the killings as he starts to hallucinate his deceased brother, Luke, who tells him to stop and reveals how he died. But Sam is ultimately swayed by Cate and he ignores his inner Luke, allowing Cate to destroy his ability to feel emotions. In Vought’s medical facility, Andre learns that Polarity's seizure was the result of brain damage caused by his powers before receiving the Polarity mantle from his father. He rushes back to Godolkin when he learns what has transpired there after a phone call with Cate and sides with Marie to stop the continuing bloodshed and to help fight the rampaging Supes. As things come to an explosive head, Cate tries to brainwash Jordan, but Marie detonates Cate's arm before Homelander arrives and attacks Marie, accusing her of "attacking her own kind". Sometime later, Marie, Jordan, Emma, and Andre awaken in a sealed hospital room at an unknown location and learn they were framed for Sam and Cate's attack while the pair are hailed as the "Guardians of Godolkin". Meanwhile, at Godolkin University, Billy Butcher investigates the ruins of The Woods'. What a bunch of Country Club members! Back at the TVA, as the Temporal Loom reaches catastrophic failure, Loki and his allies attempt to use Victor Timely and O.B's Throughput Multiplier to fix it. It is revealed that the sources of OB's and Timely’s knowledge are each other, creating a predestination paradox. Renslayer and Miss Minutes attempt to take over the TVA, approaching the detained X-5, Dox and her loyalist Minutemen for help. Only X-5 agrees; Dox and her loyalists instead choose to be crushed to death by a gleeful Miss Minutes. As he’sinvestigating a hot cocoa machine with Hunter D-90 as protection, X-5 prunes his guard and kidnaps Victor Timely, taking him back to Renslayer and Miss Minutes. While staging a rescue, Sylvie and Loki encounter his time-slipping past self; Loki prunes his past self, telling Sylvie she’ll understand. To prevent her from taking full control of all tempads and the TVA itself, OB resets the system deactivating Miss Minutes and the TVA's magic-suppressing devices. While Loki distracts X-5, Sylvie uses her magic to enchant him, forcing him to prune Rovona Renslayer. Timely is rescued and is able to restore access to the Temporal Loom, but the Loom's increased temporal radiation spaghettifies him before he can launch the Throughput Multiplier. The Temporal Loom explodes, with the blast wave spreading towards Loki, Mobius, Sylvie, B-15, Casey, and OB in the TVA. But Shetty, unaware of the plans being made by Cate, Marie, Jordan and Andre, can only meet later due to an important meeting in the city. However, Jordan is still suspicious of Cate and her new found mind-reading abilities, and persuades Marie to try another route to expose Dean Shetty. They break into her office where they learn Shetty's family was killed in the plane crash of Transoceanic flight 47 caused by Homelander and overhear Doctor Cardosa rambling about the virus that will kill all Supes. They bring their evidence and present it to Victoria Neuman, a politician on the vice presidential trail who is at Godolkin University for a town hall meeting. Meanwhile, Dean Shetty’s meeting in the city is with one Colonel Grace Mallory in a back alley downtown. Shetty needs her help to hide the development of the virus from Vought and to enable its transmission globally to kill all Supes, but Colonel Mallory refuses the offer. As Shetty departs Mallory secretly orders someone to observe her. While Cate and Andre wait for Dean Shetty to return they see a TV interview with Cameron Coleman, Andre's father, Polarity, and it becomes increasingly apparent to Cate that the two have become estranged. But Polarity suffers a seizure mid-interview. Andre rushes to his father in time and joins him as he is evacuated to the hospital. Elsewhere Senator Neuman is trying to garner support for her campaign at the Town Hall meeting. But supe student protestors, led by Rufus, incite a riot in the lecture theatre chanting "Supes Lives Matter". Sam gets caught up in the situation and seemingly is sympathetic to the possibility of a future where Supes are better than humans. While evacuating, Victoria Neuman meets Marie and discovers they share similar powers and upbringings. Marie tries to convince Neuman to help her expose the Woods to Vought, but Neuman tells her to focus on one path convincing her that she will handle it and for Marie to pursue her dream of becoming the first black, female member of the Seven where she will have real power and influence instead. After learning that Dean Shetty does love her, Cate forces Shetty to reveal the truth behind the Woods and her motivation for creating the virus. Despite her motherly love Cate forces her to slit her own throat and controls Marie to prevent her from keeping Shetty alive. Following the information from Marie, Senator Neuman secretly meets Doctor Cardosa. He gives her a virus sample before she kills him, exploding his head, to stop his knowledge from spreading, but not his brains. A true American Hero! Ravona is instructed to deliver a package into a window to complete He Who Remains plan to safeguard the timeline. Inside a young boy opens the package and reveals the TVA handbook. Trying to locate Renslayer, Loki and Mobius travel to 1868, but unable to locate her they travel to a new branched timeline in 1893. The new branch was created by Miss Minutes interference in 1868. They quickly locate a confidence trickster called Victor Timely who is advertising a way to harness time, through his Temporal Loom prototype. Victor sells his fake invention scam to an investor named Robber Barron, but soon has four interested parties after him. Loki and Mobius, need his aura to fix the Loom; while Renslayer and Miss Minutes, want him to take his variant's place with them at his side; while Sylvie has arrived to kill him to prevent his rise to power but is thwarted by Loki; and Robber Baron wants his money back. Victor manages to escape most of his suitors, as he takes a boat to his Wisconsin laboratory with Miss Minutes and Renslayer, but Renslayer is sent overboard in a lifeboat on the advice of Miss Minutes after she looks for a partnership with Victor. But Miss Minutes fairs little better after she professes romantic love for him and is deactivated by Victor using a TemPad. Victor is not alone for long as Renslayer, Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie arrive at his laboratory. Sylvie gains control of the situation threatening Victor with her blade but allows Loki to take Victor back to the TVA, then sends Renslayer to the Citadel at the End of Time. Looking upon He Who Remains' corpse, Renslayer activates Miss Minutes, who divulges that she knows a secret about Renslayer that He Who Remains has been keeping from her. Meanwhile, O.B. attempts to repair the Loom to safely accommodate the branching timelines, but discovers he cannot access it without help from the rogue Miss Minutes, who they discover has been working with Renslayer, or the deceased He Who Remains' aura. After Wolfe gets increasingly agitated sat with Mobius in the McDonald's, he proclaims the group is in mortal danger, Sylvie enchants him, forcing him to reveal Dox's plan to simultaneously destroy the branching timelines. After returning Wolfe to custody, Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie capture Dox, but she has largely succeeded and most of her allies have escaped. Lanfear alerts Ishamael to Rand's presence, before he feels ready to enact his scheme to bring Rand to the dark. Realising she has betrayed him, Ishamael starts to put in motion plans to counter Lanfear and has Padan Fain deliver Mat the dagger from Shadar Logoth to kill Rand with, but Mat finds a creative solution to taking the blade and escapes his prison. Meanwhile Falme comes under attack from the Whitecloaks led by Dain Bornhald and his father Geofram in an attempt to eradicate the Seanchan. But encounter Perrin and the Aiel. As Geofram kills Perrin’s companion Hopper, Perrin quickly takes revenge killing the Whitecloaks leader in front of his son Dain. During the chaos, Ingtar, Loial and Masema escape with the Horn of Valere and join the battle alongside Mat, Perrin and the Aiel. Seeing Egwene captured by the Seanchan, Rand confronts and kills the Seanchan leaderTurak and his men. But after a bombardment of Falme’s Tower disrupts the Damane channellers and their Sul’dam, Egwene manages to break free from Renna killing her, as she realises that she can be collared as she is a low level channeler of the one power Meanwhile, unable to reach Rand at the Tower with his way blocked by Seanchan, Mat is forced to blow the Horn, summoning the Heroes of the Horn to his side and turning the tide of battle. Rand, Egwene, Nynaeve, Perrin and Mat reunite and are confronted by Ishamael who has Rand shielded from the One Power and tricks Mat into wounding Rand with the dagger. While Egwene and Perrin protect Rand and Mat from Ishamael, Elayne and Nyneave arrive and Elayne begins to heal Rand’s wound. On the beach Moiraine realises Lanfear had placed her and Lan in the location to free Rand from the shielding, allowing him to channel the one power and slay Ishamael with his Heron sword. As was prophesied, Rand is proclaimed the Dragon Reborn before the whole city with a fiery dragon bannered across the sky as his friends stand by his side. After the battle, Lanfear is confronted by Moghedien, another of the Forsaken, and learns all Forsaken have been set free and have set their sights on the Dragon Reborn. In the past, Mobius M. Mobius and Hunter B-15 don’t recognise Loki and the TVA attempts to apprehend Loki. In the present, Loki reunites with Mobius and warns him of the threat of the many variants of He Who Remains, the TVA's creator. Still warping between different times, Loki and Mobius go to meet the TVA technician Ouroboros "O. B.", who deduces that Loki is "time slipping", a phenomenon possibly caused by the instability of the timeline branches caused by the death of He Who Remains. To stop Loki's time slipping, O. B. instructs Mobius to approach the Temporal Loom with the Temporal Aura Extractor device to extract Loki from the time stream as Loki prunes himself. The endeavor is filled with risk as Mobius realises that his skin could be flayed from his body, while Loki could be turned into spaghetti and lost to time. Loki time slips to the future, where he briefly encounters Sylvie before he is pruned by someone at the last possible second. In addition, Loki discovers that the Temporal Loom will go critical in the future. Mobius successfully pulls Loki from the time stream, and the two of them set out to find Sylvie, just as many TVA hunters are ordered by General Dox to search for her. In a mid-credit scene, Sylvie enters a branched timeline in Broxton, Oklahoma in 1982, and visits a McDonald's restaurant where she wants to try everything. With the hashtag “Why Did Golden Boy Do It” still trending he’s been tasked with getting an answer to cover up the connection to The Woods under the school. Concerned for her missing housemate Emma after Andre sent her to The Woods, Marie tries to get help from a clairvoyant student, Rufus to find her. But Rufus is a serial sex offender and tries to use his powers to assault Marie. With Jordan’s help, Marie comes to her senses in time to make sure Rufus never does this again. Despite Dean Shetty warning him off, Tec Knight goes after the top 5. He interviews Andre, speculating that his relationship with Kate drove Luke over the edge. Or was it jealousy from Jordan Li or Kate being pushed from a promising career into management of Golden Boy? He keeps following leads until he interrogates Marie Moreau pushing her to get the truth of the story, that she was not the Guardian of Godolkin, Jordan Li actually saved her. With the story not going as planned Tek Knight tries to pin it on Dean Shetty but the Dean has learnt of Tek Knight's proclivity of filling every hole he sees and blackmails him to leave the school and it’s students alone. Jordan is angry that Marie threw herself under the bus to tell the truth but a spark is forming between them and as they kiss Emma returns. Sam used his powers violently killing half of the security team in The Woods to get them both to safety. They hid out in an abandoned Drive In, but after learning of his brother Luke’s death Sam starts to disconnect from reality. Puppets from a children’s TV show, and television's Jason Ritter, encourage Sam to go to the home of The Wood’s scientist Doctor Edison Cordosa and kill him for what he’s done. As Sam threatens the scientist, his husband and son, Andre, Emma, Jordan, Marie and Kate arrive to subdue him. With the rest overpowered by Sam, Emma eats herself giant and holds him down. As the team tries to calm him down something happens and Marie wakes up in bed beside Jordan Li not knowing how they got there. On route they are attacked by two TIE fighters that knock out Ahsoka’s ship. While Huyang and the Noti repair the ship, Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra make their way to the Chimaera on the back of two Howlers, which has now docked with the Eye of Sion. Making their way inside the temple they are confronted by Elsbeth and the Night Troopers, whom the Great Mothers keep resurrecting after they are killed. As Ahsoka fights Elsbeth, Sabine and Ezra continue on to try and stop Thrawn. After dispatching literally two Death Troopers, Sabine uses the Force to help Ezra jump onto the Chimaera. She heads back, leaving Ezra aboard the Chimaera, to support Ahsoka attacking the remaining Night Troopers, while Ahsoka kills Elsbeth. In a last ditch attempt to stop Thrawn they chase after the Chimaera in the repaired shuttle, but are too late as the Eye of Sion jumps to hyperspace, leaving Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang stranded on Peridea. As Thrawn and the Great Mothers arrive over Dathomir to unload the ship’s cargo, Ezra escapes and reunites with Syndulla and Chopper. Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang join the Noti and make their new home on Peridea, watched over by Anakin's spirit. Elsewhere on Peridea, Shin Hati joins the bandits, while Baylan Skoll is guided to a mountain by a statue of the Mortis Gods as he seeks his new power. Nynaeve and Elayne manage to use the a'dam to take a sul'dam captive after learning from Loial that only sul'dams can approach the kennels where Egwene is held. Perrin and Aviendha meet up with two other Aiel warriors, Bain and Chiad, who join them in their journey to Falme. In Cairhien, Rand is brought to Siuan Sanche, who takes him captive, intending to use him as a weapon against the Dark One. Barthanes is revealed to be a Darkfriend, and tasked by Liandrin with killing Moiraine, but Anvaere uncovers the plot and locks him in a cell. Lan learns from Logain that Ishamael didn't still Moiraine, but shielded her. Rand persuades Lanfear to help him get to Falme, and she assaults the Foregate to distact Siuan, allowing Moiraine and Lan to escape with Rand, who uses the One Power to cut the shield around Moiraine, allowing her to channel again. Siuan finds them as they are about to leave Cairhien through a Waygate, but she is ambushed by Lanfear, who easily defeats her and opens the gate, allowing Rand, Moiraine and Lan to leave for Falme. Continuing alone, Ahsoka and Huyang are attacked by enemy fighters and hide in a debris field, compelling the Grand Admiral to adopt a more calculated approach. Ahsoka locates Sabine Wren through the Force and heads to the planet's surface avoiding a further attack from Thrawn's troops. On the planet Ezra Bridger, Sabine, and the Noti are attacked by Shin Hati, the bandits Wren had previously encountered, and Thrawn's Night Troopers, while Baylan Skoll bids farewell to his apprentice and leaves to pursue his own agenda. Ahsoka's intervention leads to Thrawn withdrawing his remaining Night Troopers and preparing his imminent departure. Shin Hati is forced to retreat with the Night Troopers or be left behind in this galaxy. Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine are joyously reunited as Ezra hopes he might actually be able to go home. Lanfear accepts by showing him that Egwene is imprisoned in Falme, and provided one condition is met: He must abandon Moiraine, otherwise she will kill Moiraine if she ever sees them together again. Rand leaves Moiraine and prepares to leave Cairhein (KAI-REIGN) for Falme to rescue Egwane. At the same time, Mat and Min arrive in Cairhien, and Rand and Mat meet in the Foregate, catching up on their adventures. Rand tells Mat that Egwene has been captured in Falme and they agree to go off to Falme together. But Min warns Mat that Ishamael intends for him to go to Falme with Rand, where he may try to kill Rand. This causes Mat to avoid leaving with Rand, who starts off to Falme on his own. Before he can leave Cairhein he is intercepted by Lan, Alanna, and her warders, who tell him they can't let him leave. While at the same time Suian Sanche, the Amyrlin Seat, who arrived in Cairhien with Lan, summons Moiraine for an audience after Lan warns the Amyrlin of Moiraine's actions and the Dragon reborn. Back in Falme, Renna, a Sul'dam, begins the ritual to break Egwene and make her understand that she is not a woman, not an Aes Sedai only a Damane, a magic user who needs to be leashed and controlled by Renna through the a'dam, a collar used to control Damane. Renna demonstrates begins to slowly ramp up her physical and psychological torture to break her. Elsewhere in the city of Falme, Nynaeve and Elayne are in hiding with Ryma, an Aes Sedai and her warder Basan. As they pass the hours away confined indoors, they try to understand a stolen a'dam collar to rescue Egwene. But in channeling the One Power, Nynaeve channels too much during their attempts to open the collar, giving their location away to the Seanchan, who come for them. Ryma and her warder fight the Seanchan to protect Elayne and Nynaeve, but Basan is killed and Ryma is captured and collared. As they wait for the Grand Admiral's arrival, Baylon relates to Shin Hati his belief that the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire were part of an inevitable cycle, one he intends to break. Thrawn arrives with his Star Destroyer, the Chimaera, and honours Bayoln's promise by providing Sabine with provisions, a mount, and the latest intelligence on Ezra's whereabouts. After Sabine leaves, Thrawn orders Baylon and Shin to follow her so they can kill both her and Ezra. Surviving an ambush by bandits, Sabine encounters the native Noti and follows them to their village, where she reunites with Ezra Bridger. While tracking Sabine, Baylon senses that there is a greater power on Peridea and tells Hati that he intends to find and use it. Meanwhile The Great Mothers warn Grand Admiral Thrawn that a Jedi is coming with the Purrgil. Deducing that Ahsoka is alive, Thrawn demands all the details of her history from Morgan Elsbeth and asks the Great Mothers to aid him in preparation for Ahsoka's arrival. As Ishmael and Suroth plot he sends her out to receive his gifts of Nyanaeve, Elayne and Egwene from Liandrin. It becomes clear that Ishmael intends to use them to gain further favour in the Schenchean court as they are destined to become Demane. As the novices are handed over and Liandrin leaves, Elayne and Nynaeve manage to escape and are rescued from capture by Ryma, an Aes Sedai hiding in Falme. Egwene is leashed and presented to Turak by Suroth, who collars her binding her to a Sul’Dan. Verin arrives at the White Tower and working with Yassica investigates the disappearance of the three girls, which draws suspicion on Liandrin’s cover story and leads her to evidence for the existence of the Black Ajah at Tar Valon, Aes Sedai sworn to the dark. Elsewhere, Rand and Moiraine escape Lanfear, fleeing back to Cairhein and are taken in with Anvaere and her son Barthanes, who is delighted to have his Aunty back after 20 years. But, Moirraine’s intention is to put distance between themselves and Lanfear, realising the danger that she has put her family in, until Anavere gives her sister some of Moirraine’s own advice that she once gave her. Moirraine decides to stay at House Damodred and have Rand enter Tel'aran'rhiod, the realm of dreams, where he might be able to learn what Ishamael is planning. Alerted by a noise at the Henge she finds only Huyang holding Sabine’s helmet recalling that he told them both to stay together. While the X-Wings sweep the nearby forest for Sabine and Ahsoka, Jacen Syndulla senses lightsabers clashing above the noise of the crashing waves as he senses Ahsoka’s presence in the World Between Worlds and reveals to his mother Hera and Huyang his own connection with the Force. Hera orders the X-Wings to begin sweeping the coastline for Ahsoka. In the World Between Worlds, Anakin explains to Ahsoka that he had been watching her through the Force and deduces that her loss with Baylon Skoll is partially due to her unresolved guilt over the events that drove them apart.He is here to continue their training and gives her the choice to “live or die” as his lightsaber ignites. As they duel Ahsoka has the bridge taken from beneath her and falls into a battle where she relives fragments of her past with Anakin during the Clone Wars. But Ahsoka doesn’t want to simply be a Jedi of war and refuses Anakin’s teachings, determined to not be held to the legacy of her Master’s past nor those of his Masters from before. Her refusal leads to another duel between them, which Ahsoka wins and chooses to live, accepting that she wasn’t part of the reason for Anakin’s downfall. Ahsoka is recovered by Hera’s crew after being picked up on Chopper’s scanner. Once she has recovered she uses her powers to learn that Sabine is with Baylon Skol. As she contemplates what to do she sees the Purrgil overhead and realises there is another way to find the Pathway to Peridia. At the same time Hera is contacted by Mon Mothma who informs her that New Republic forces are en route to take her and Ahsoka into custody. As a New Republic Fleet led by Captain Girard arrives, X-Wing pilot Carson Teva is tasked with holding them up as Ahsoka force-connects to a pod of Purrgil to get them to take her and Huyang to Ezra and Sabine. Syndulla, Jacen, and Chopper stay behind, with Hera likely to be stripped of her rank at the hands of the Senate for the unauthorised mission, as the New Republic Defense Fleet watches the large pod of Purrgil jump to hyperspace with Ahsoka and Huyang. In the White Tower, Nynaeve has been raised as an Accepted following her trial in the Arches. She is traumatised by her experiences in the Arches and her mentor Liandrin offers her insights on how to cope with becoming an Accepted. Liandrin tells Nynaeve of Perrins's capture by the Seanchan close to Falme, which leads to Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne sneaking out of the tower to mount a rescue. But Nyneave is taken off guard by the appearance of Liandrin who ambushes them, using the One Power to subdue them. Meanwhile, Perrin and Elyas look for the Shienarans and Loial, where Perrin is told that he is Wolfbrother by Elyas. As Perrin tries to understand this he bonds with the wolf pack and in particular with one wolf called Hopper befriending Perrin. Elsewhere, as Min and Matt settle down for the night at a Tavern on the road, she discovers that Liandrin’s contact she is meant to meet is Ishamael, one of the Forsaken. He offers to rid her of her visions if she brings Mat to Cairhien. Moiraine Damodred arrives in Cairhien, where she heads to her family home to meet her little sister, Anvaere. Their relationship is strained and Moiraine focuses on her task at hand as she sets about her investigations to find Lan. She also meets with Logain, and offers to end his life if he first helps her train Rand to use the One Power. Back at her home her sister forces Moiraine to realise that she no longer holds any power over her, and if she wants to know where her ginger headed boy is she will have to ask politely. Elsewhere, Lan stays with Alanna and her warders, who attempt to help him through losing his bond with Moiraine. Alanna finds a prophecy that reveals that the Forsaken Lanfear has returned to the world. Meanwhile, Rand and Selene leave Cairhien to travel to Selene’s mountain lodge, where a Fade attacks them. Rand kills it with the One Power, and confesses his love for Selene, who chooses to stay with him despite his ability to channel, and reveals a secret of her own, as she begins to channel. Before she can do anything, Moiraine arrives and stabs Selene through the heart before cutting her throat. Pleading for Rand to run, she reveals Selene is Lanfear. Moments later, they are attacked by several of Morgan Elsbeth's forces, but are able to hold them off. Fearing that Elsbeth will acquire the coordinates to Thrawn's location, Ahsoka and Wren head to the henge on Seatos but are intercepted by Shin Hati and Marrok. Ahsoka kills Marrok and continues on alone, while Wren stays behind to hold off Hati. Ahsoka reaches Baylan Skoll, and the two engage in a duel; Ahsoka is able to retrieve the map, but she tosses it aside after it burns her hand. Skoll overpowers Ahsoka and sends her plummeting into the ocean as Wren watches in horror. Sabine then holds the map at gunpoint, threatening to destroy it, but Baylan calls her bluff and manipulates her into handing the star map over, promising her that she will see Ezra Bridger again. After Thrawn's location is revealed, Skoll destroys the map and boards the Eye of Sion with Shin Hati and Sabine Wren and Morgan Elsbeth, as a small fleet of New Republic fighters arrive in the Denab system, led by Hera Syndulla in her ship “The Ghost”. She is joined by her son Jacen and Chopper to stop the ship from jumping into hyperspace, but fail to prevent the Eye of Sion from making the jump. Meanwhile, Ahsoka awakens in the "World Between Worlds", where she is seemingly reunited with her former Master, Anakin Skywalker. McKenna Directed by: Thomas Napper EPISODE 3 "WHAT MIGHT BE" Written by: John McCutcheon Directed by: Sanaa Hamri SPOILER FILLED SYNOPSIS A meeting of Darkfriends occurs, where Ishamael, the Dark Ones strongest servant, decides to observe Rand Al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, instead of killing him. After the events at the Eye, Moiraine has been living with Adeleas and Verin, her fellow Aes Sedai, gathering information on the coming battle. Moiraine all the time struggles with the loss of the One Power and her bond with her Warder Lan begins to weaken as she increasingly pushes him away. Moiraine leaves to follow up on her plans alone but is attacked and wounded by three Fades, and is only saved by the weave and warder of Verin and Adeleas. Meanwhile, Rand has gone into hiding in Cairhien, and has developed a relationship with an innkeeper called Selene. Working at a hospice where he looks after a war damaged swordsman called Errol, his true intention to gain access to the False Dragon Logain who is a patient there comes to fruition. After bringing a bottle of wine as a price for the information, Rand asks Logain to teach him how to control the One Power without going mad. But Logain reveals that the Power can't be controlled. Believing Rand Al’Thor to be dead, Egwene and Nynaeve have started their Aes Sedai training as Novices at the White Tower. Egwene is determined to succeed but frustrated by the lack of praise, and has become jealous of Nyneave who is praised as one of the most powerful Aes Sedai to have ever entered the Tower. As Egwene's friendship with Nynaeve becomes strained, she befriends Elayne Trakand, the daughter-heir of Andor who has come to study at the White Tower. However, Nynaeve struggles to Channel the One Power, except when angry or afraid. The Red Ajah, Liandrin, wants to train Nynaeve, despite her past history with Novices, and pushes for Nynaeve to undergo the testing and become an Accepted, which would allow her to train Nynaeve. In the depths of the White Tower, Mat has been imprisoned in the Tower by Liandrin at Moiraine's request. As he tries to escape his cell he chisels through to another cell instead meeting Min who he befriends. Min, who has a special ability to touch the One Power to see future events, has also been locked up by Liandrin, and as she gets to know Matt sees a vision of Mat stabbing Rand. Perrin and Loial have joined a company of Shienarans led by Ingtar Shinowa to hunt for the Horn of Valere and Padan Fain who stole it from Fal Dara. They are joined by a "sniffer" Elyas, who takes an interest in Perrin. After coming across a massacre of innocent people and with a Fade nailed to a wall, they travel on to a small village, which is attacked by a Seanchan force. Perrin, Loial and the Shienarans are captured, as the Seanchan leader Suroth arrives along with Ishamael. Forced to swear fealty to the Seanchan, Ishamael is intrigued by Perrin, and encourages him to unleash his inner beast. Moiraine and Lan recover after the attack from the Fades, and prepare to leave for the White Tower despite Moiraine being exiled by the Amyrlin. While on their way there, Verin deduces that Moiraine found the Dragon Reborn, and intends to serve him no matter what. Moiraine releases Lan from her service, claiming that he can't protect her anymore, and has Alanna and her warders escort him to the Tower. In the White Tower, Nynave undergoes her Accepted test, which involves facing trials inside Ter'angreal Arches. NyNaeve passes two of the trails but on the third seemingly fails after choosing a life with Lan inside the Arches over becoming an Aes Sedai. Liandrin and the other Aes Sedai believe her to be dead, and Elayne has to comfort a grieving Egwene. Liandrin releases Mat, to comfort Egwene (which he opts not to do), but also has Min follow him. Inside the Arches, Nynaeve’s life with Lan is ruined by a Trolloc attack, and she escapes back to the real world, and is embraced by a shocked Egwene. The group escapes by flying through a pod of giant space faring creatures known as Purrgil and land on the surface of Seatos. They take refuge in the forest as Huyang gives his full analysis on the Eye of Sion which he classifies as a Hyperjump Gate. However, Shin Hati is aware that they are hiding somewhere in the forest. As a result, her master Baylon Skoll dispatches his forces to hunt them down. It's time for the finale as John and his own ineffable husband discuss Good Omens Season 2 Episode 6 "Every Day". It all wraps up as we learn what happened to Gabriel and get a melancholy end for Aziraphale and Crowley. Based on the book Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen we’re discussing each of the six episodes of this series one a week. This is our spoiler filled discussion so as always make sure you’ve watched the episode before listening to the podcast. GOOD OMENS 206 “EVERY DAY” SYNOPSIS While Aziraphale, Nina and Maggie fend off the demons, Crowley discovers the reason for Gabriel's disappearance: he refused to support a second attempt at Armageddon. Gabriel was demoted from his position as an Archangel, but before his memories could be wiped by Saraquel, both him and his memories can not be located in heaven. Crowley returns to the bookshop, where Aziraphale has successfully fended off the demons and accidentally declared war on Hell by using his halo. Beelzebub appears, and reveals that Gabriel's memories were hidden in the fly inside the box that Gabriel had been carrying. Gabriel's memories – including those of him conducting a romance with Beelzebub – are restored. He and Beelzebub choose to abandon Heaven and Hell and leave together, for their own versions of heaven and hell…maybe for Alpha Centauri. As the assembled demons and angels squabble over what happens next, the Metatron arrives sending Michael, Uriel and Saraquel back to heaven, as the demons are taken back to hell. The Metatron has a vacancy left by Gabriel and is looking for a new archangel. He offers Aziraphale Gabriel's former position as well as the ability to restore Crowley's status as an angel if he chooses to work with him. Meanwhile, Crowley prepares to confess his feelings to Aziraphale after a good talking to by Nina and Maggie. Together at last, Aziraphale informs Crowley that he plans to accept the Metatron's offer, while Crowley asks Aziraphale to abandon Heaven and Hell so they can become and Us, just as Gabriel and Beelzebub did. Caught off guard Aziraphale asks Crowley to instead return to Heaven as an angel to work together, but Crowley refuses the offer realising Aziraphale is being manipulated. Aziraphale leaves Earth (and Crowley) to go work for Heaven, where the Metatron informs him that his task, for which he has the perfect skill set for will be to enact the Second Coming. Ahsoka and her droid Huyang obtain a star map to the location of the banished Grand Admiral Thrawn, despite an attempt by Skoll’s assassin droids attempts to prevent her and obtain the star map for their master. Ahsoka is informed of Lady Elsbeth's escape by Home One. Regrouping with the fleet, Ahsoka meets with General Hera Syndulla, but Huyang reveals that the star map is locked. Syndulla advises Ahsoka to go to her former Padawan, Sabine Wren, to use her skills to help unlock the map. On the planet Lothal, the tense relationship between Ahsoka and Sabine is palpable and Wren takes the star map to unlock it back at her home outside the city where she is ambushed by two assassin droids and the apprentice Shin who steal it. As Sabine tries to stop Shin a lightsaber duel ensues and Shin seriously wounds Sabine. IN EPISODE 2 After the attack on Sabine, she recovers at Lothal’s medical facility and soon puts her tech skills to use as she hacks one of the assassin droid's memories. They discover that it had come to Lothal from Corellia. In the Denab System on the planet Seatos, Baylan Skoll, Shin and Elsbeth at an ancient structure activates the star map which plots a course to another galaxy along the mythological Pathway to Peridia. To reach Thrawn Elsbeth orders Shin to Corellia to oversee Marrock’s final preparations for the final delivery for Elsbeth’s ship, the Eye of Sion. Elsewhere, to recover the star map, Ahsoka and Syndulla travel to the Corelian shipyards, but as they are inspecting one of Elsbeth’s former shipyard assets a massive hyperdrive begins to depart the shipyard and the pair soon realise that sympathy for the Empire still lingers in the dockyards of Corellia. As Ahsoka goes to stop Shin and Marrock, the hyperdrive begins its ascent to space. Followed by Hera and Chopper in the Phantom, Hera weaves to avoid the blaster fire from the transporter ship and gets Chopper to attach a tracking device. As the Empire sympathisers are rounded up, Ahsoka heads back to Lothal following a talk with Hera to see if Sabine will come to help find Thrawn, prevent another war and to find her friend and former rebel the Jedi, Ezra Bridger.
