The Sports Machine w/ Slim | Weekend Sports Recap!

The Bruins won an amazing game on Saturday. The Celtics beat New Orleans on Saturday too. The NCAA basketball tournament is down to four teams on the men's side - and NC State is hoping to pull off a miracle. On the women's side, Iowa and Caitlin Clark try to get some revenge against LSU in an Elite 8 matchup tonight. SO MUCH SPORTS TO TALK ABOUT! NC St is the men's team we are rooting for here at The Sports Machine with Slim. UConn, Purdue, and Alabama are the other teams that are still alive. How are your brackets looking? We correctly predicted ZERO of the Final Four participants, but that doesn't stop Slim from talking as if he knows everything about basketball. He is still ready to educate you today as he does every weekday between 10-11am on WKXL Radio.

The Sports Machine w/ Slim | The Celtics Do It Again!

Not in a good way. The Celts drop another game to the Atlanta Hawks last night, this time in OT by a score of 123-122. The worst part is that once again our late game execution leaves a ton to be desired. It is 100% time to put the focus squarely on Joe Mazulla. I hope he is up to the challenge. The Sports Machine calls things as we see them. Joe Mazulla seems like a very competitive guy who is respected by the team. That is great. But his play calling at the end of games has been atrocious this year. It needs to be said. If Coach Joe has a problem with the criticism, then he might not be the right guy for the job. You have to be able to admit your own weaknesses in life, or else you will never improve upon them.

NH Unscripted with Jim Rosenberg

Is the third time the charm or the curse? The charm of course!! Attorney Jim Rosenberg from the law offices of Shaheen & Gordon drops by for his third visit. The topic? Forget about it!! I had to toss the topic sheet out the window because Jim came loaded for bear. He’s like a verbal machine gun. He can hit more topics in the first 5 minutes than I can hope we’ll hit in total hour we have together. Keno, March Madness, trips to NYC, black ice hockey tournaments, tips on getting to NYC, inflation and he even managed to sneak in a little politics. That just the first segment!!! He’s a great guest, brilliant mind, incredible memory and excellent story teller. Yup, third time was a charm.

Losing is never good. We here at The Sports Machine with Slim are as competitive as they come, so of course we hate that our Bruins lost last night. But we gotta cut this team a little bit of slack. The B's played an incredible game the night before against Florida. Then we run into a team in Tampa that is 8-1-1 in their last ten games. That's hot! So please excuse me if we don't have a chicken little the sky is falling type of desperation today. We are upbeat! Then we have My Brother Dave call to discuss the NCAA Bball tournament that gets started up again tonight. We talked about the Boston Bruins and the potential for a huge fight tonight in the game vs the New York Rangers. We also talked a bunch about college hoops and the tournament action that truly gets going today. The most important thing we talked about though, was something good in the community that people should know about. The St Anselm's Softball team has a funding drive going on today. They are looking for people to donate $10 to support the team. The Sports Machine with Slim donated $100 to them while we were on the air today, and we are asking you to please make a donation if you are able.
