Sometimes, things have a way of working out in a way you never expected. Fortune. Luck. Kismet. Serendipity. It can be good, it can be bad. Sometimes, through some back alley channels, you find yourself in possession of something you never thought imaginable, like the unaired first pilot of Boy Meets World. Now that's something. Join the Boys today as we take a walk down the route 66 of memory lane that had been shuttered by the construction of Interstate 40. We, like Lightning McQueen, are here to remind you of a time that never existed, a possibility of Boy Meets World that just never quite came to fruition, for better or worse (ok, being honest, it is probably for the better, but you be the judge when we share how you too can watch this hidden gem of TV history.)
Times they are a boonboom changin'! We are back with more Gotchard (maybe peak Gotchard) as the Kitchen Ichinose Alliance has a major showdown with Geryon and the Abyssal Sisters as the evil plan is unfurled and the Kamen Rider Dread gets even more cool forms. New Riders (for some reasons) and new suits galore this week. Also, Boonboomger continues its hot streak (can three episodes be a hot streak?) as Mira the Bunpink, makes a delivery and cracks us all up.
Henshin! We are here with a surprise episode covering episode 25 of Kamen Rider Gotchard, which we assumed to be the end of an arc, but was it? Iron Gotchard gets down to business fighting WarpTera and Kamen Rider Dread Unicon (the sickest suit in the whole show) and the secrets of Minato's past are revealed...maybe...is that it? Time will tell. ---also--- BoonBoomChange! The first two episodes of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger are hear and they are...AMAZING! We watch and recap all the action as we dive into a new branch of Tokusatsu, the Super Sentai. Will it be a regular thing? Who knows? But it's a good time either way.
Henshin! We are back and better than ever (or as healthy as ever) with 3 new episodes of Kamen Rider Gotchard to talk about this week, but first, Digimon talk? This week we look at the two part episode covering the curious Chemy, Zukyumpire, and the fact that everyone seems surprised that a vampire Chemy would do vampirey things. We also cover episode 24, the recap episode that is so much more. Henshins galore this week on Henshin Fever!
Well friends, you never saw it coming. Unless you have listened to the show for even 5 minutes before and knew what huge nerds we are. Today, the Boys wrap up their planned Boy Meets World CWesque reboot with a banger of a final season. It is Persona X Boy Meets World like you never expected. There is magic. There is Mayhem. Millie, Mr. Mack (a Minkus variant obviously), and Topanga's long lost sister Nebula are back for revenge with a magical tower in tow and it is up to the 7 pals to settle things, the hard way (see what we did there). Oh CW, money please!
Sometimes in life, you do something for four years straight and then its over and you need some time to talk about it. Join us today as we decompress a little and look over the highs and lows, the surprises and disappointments of having a Boy Meets World podcast. We also rank the seasons and are a bit surprised how we felt after 4 years.
Sorry for our prolonged absence. Sickness and travel always are a kicker this time of year. But we are back with you today and we come bearing fruit. Not one, but two new Kamen Riders joining forces with Gotchard as he fights against Geryon and the Abyssal Sisters to save the Chemies. Join us this week as we cover episodes 18-21, witnessing the birth of Burning Gotchard, Kamen Rider Majade, and Kamen Rider Valvarad. Come bear witness to two of the coolest Rider kicks in the show and one of the lamest. They can't all be winners. Kamen Riders also discussed, Shinobi, Geats, Wizard, Ghost, Saber.
Sometimes you make a pledge in haste and it really comes back to bite you in a major way. Here on Boy Meets World Fever, we made just such a pledge, a pledge to no sleep until we consumed babka, that delicious Jewish baked good that Eric and Jack try to use to get the Dean to give them an extension on their first paper. We did our not sleeping. 708 days of it. And now we may rest. The result of this pledge is now here for your listening pleasure. Oh we also went to the Pod Meets World live show and talked about that some too, but we know you are really here for the bread.
You're the best around? It is hard to say. After a contentious time with season 7 of Boy Meets World, the Boys have brought in some real experts, Alden and Tawnya Bair from Boy Meets Girl Meets Boy Meets World, to help them sort through the cruft and find the true episode that can be called "The Best Around." It is a tall task but everyone is up for the challenge.
Girl you know we belong together I don't have no time for you To be playing with my heart like this You'll be mine forever baby You just wait We belong together And you know that I'm right Why do you play with my heart? Why do you play with my mind? Said we'd be forever Said it'd never die How could you love me and leave me And never say goodbye? When I can't sleep at night Without holding you tight Girl, each time I try I just break down and cry Pain in my head Oh, I'd rather be dead Spinning around and around Although we've come To the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you Come to the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you Girl, I know you really love me You just don't realize You've never been there before It's only your first time Maybe I'll forgive you Maybe you'll try We should be happy together forever You and I Will you love me again Like you loved me before? This time I want you to love me much more This time instead Just come to my bed And baby just don't let me, don't let go Although we've come To the end of the road (end of the the road) Still I can't let go (the end of the road and I can't let go, baby) It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you (I don't know what I'm gonna do) Come to the end of the road (I don't know what I'm gonna do) Still I can't let go ('cause I know I've come to the end of the road) It's unnatural (oh my god, oh my god, help me out a little bit, baby) You belong to me I belong to you Girl, I'm here for you All those times at night when you just hurt me And just ran out with that other fella Baby, I knew about it, I just didn't care You just don't understand how much I love you, do you? I'm here for you I'm not out to go out there and cheat at night (maybe I'll forgive you) Just like you did baby, but that's alright I love you anyway (maybe you will try) And I'm still going to be here for you until my dying day, baby Right now, I'm just in so much pain, baby (we should be happy together forever) 'Cause you just won't come back to me, will you? (You and I) Just come back to me Yes baby, my heart is lonely (lonely, lonely) My heart hurts baby, yes, I feel pain too (lonely, lonely) Baby, please This time instead just come to my bed And baby just don't let me, don't let go Although we've come To the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you Come to the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you Although we've come To the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you Come to the end of the road Still I can't let go It's unnatural You belong to me I belong to you -Boyz II Men --Boy Meets World Fever
Some TV finales are great, like M*A*S*H. Some TV finales are bad, like How I Met Your Mother (sorry Mike). Some are just puzzling, like this one. Boy Meets World meets the end of the line with part 1 of a 3 part finale that bids farewell to one of the best characters on the show as Angela says her farewells to Shawn and the gang before going to Europe with her father. Be sure to follow our instagram @bgworldfever to get updates as we attend the Pod Meets World liveshow in Dallas and maybe bid a found farewell to one of our favorite bits on the show.
New Year, New Chemies, Same Podcast Buddies! After a bit of a break, the Kamen Rider Gotchard coverage continues, with not 1, not 2, but 3 new episodes being talked about today. Things get weird as UFO-X makes another appearance, giving us the silliest Gotchard suit yet, but not if X-Rex has anything to say about it as Super Gotchard X-Rex also makes an appearance to square off with Kamen Rider Dread once again. Its a wild and fun time as the series begins to ramp up and get going somewhere.
As Boys Meets World continues its strange march into the series finale, so too are we following like the lemmings we are. (In reality, lemmings do not actually all throw themselves to their deaths, that we nature documentarians trying to make things more exciting for the viewers at home (capitalism baby!) but I digress.) This week, we watch possibly the strangest episode of Boy Meets World since Cory thought he was turning into a werewolf in a thinly veiled allegory for puberty I guess, with "As Time Goes By". It is a tribute to noir and hard boiled detectives and an examination of the very concept of the utopia and how easy it is for it all to come crashing down. Or maybe the writers ran out of ideas and are scrambling, it is hard to tell. Either way, its a fun time.
Do you ever think about things that you have to do in the future and feel paralyzed at the thought of having to eventually do that thing and then once you do it you realize it wasn't as bad as you were expecting? I don't think there is a word for it but it certainly would not be used here. The Boys, along with long time guest HiFiMike, finally made it to the one they have been dreading all this time. The episode that both agreed was a bad bake Mary Berry, is the one this week! And hooboy were they right about this one.
Did you know roughly 800 out of 100,000 Americans are named Joseph or some variation of that. There have got to be some stinkers in a sample size that large. This week, in addition to covering the classic(?) episode "How Cory and Topanga Got Their Groove Back" (which is the leader for the longest title of the season), the Boys also go down a list of famous Joe's and determine who can hang (Joe Manganiello) and who gets kicked to the curb (Joe Biden, but is it for the reason you think?).
Despite all evidence to the contrary that a sitcom can't really speak well to issues such as weight and body image, Boy Meets World really goes for the fences in "She's Having My Baby Back Ribs" and the results are...not as bad as we were expecting. Join the Boys as they rewatch a not so classic season 7 episode full of pizza, waffles, six pack abs, thinly veiled references to the nature of Jack and Rachel's former relations(hip) and the one and only appearance of the legendary Nana Boo Boo!
Things finally come to a head this week on Kamen Rider Gotchard and we are here for it! The Abyssal Sisters plan is revealed and things start to pop off as Gotchard moves into its second arc. Chemies galore and a new Rider make for an eventful two episodes that retroactively make the rest of the season better.
It is the day of day of day of days! The high holiday of Chance's people. It's Time Loop Day baby! Let us bask in the warmth of our hearts and hearths as we gather round the warm glow of the television with our comfiest pants and tastiest breakfast burritos and enjoy the celebration of self improvement through time displacement. This year, we are taking the celebration international as we watch the first 11 episodes of the time looping Isekai anime Re:Zero.
The gang is on location this week as they go to Kyoto for their school trip. It all goes awry when Clotho releases not one but two violent criminals to become Malgams to try and take down Geats. Also Kijiki falls in love.
We are back!!!!! Join the Boys and their old pal Kyle Thomas as they finally talk about what we say in the title of the show, Boy Meets World. Things get funny and then serious as an ever escalating prank war (can you call three total pranks a war?) takes a turn for the worse as Cory and Shawn take it too far, threatening the very fabric of their friend group. There are time skips and honey pranks galore on this week's episode of Boy Meets World Fever!
With negotiations between SAG AFTRA and the AMPTP continuing on for another week, so does our side show. This week, the Boys discuss Time Loop Day possibilities in a struck media environment. Can AMPTP finally give actors their due in time to save this most precious holiday? The Boys play a game. It does not go well. Cameron and Chance both bring anime shows to talk about this week in a wild moment of synergy.
We did an oopsie here at Henshin Fever and split a two parter. In order to avoid this horribly gauche mistake again, we are just covering one episode of Gotchard today, with episodes 9 and 10 coming in a future episode. Cameron gushes over Geats some more. Chance is deeply moved by Saber. We are also all in on Isaac the AI (Alchemist IPad).
As the AMPTP continues to drag their feet about paying actors their fair share and protect them from an AI future, we continue to talk about non-struck media. Chance quizzes Cameron about Five Nights at Freddy's lore. The Boys review 1989 (Taylor's Version) Chance has a new show. Cameron brings a favorite mobile game and Chance falls into a world of pure imagination.
The strikes continue and so do we. Look for the Union Label! Is anybody behind us my Shawn? After a cold open that went on too long about Croc Charms and Under the shirt suspenders, the Boys get down to business (to defeat the Huns). Cameron discusses his favorite way to play Pokemon and a video series that does it. Chance is Batman.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenshin! We are putting on our drivers and getting transformed for new episodes of Kamen Rider Gotchard. We are watching episode 6 and 7. We finally learn a little bit about Spanner, but we have more questions than answers now. Also, we get to part 1 of our first two parter with episode 7. Chance talks about an issue he is having with act structure. Cameron finally watches Geats and won't shut up about it.
The strikes continue for another week, and so do we. Chance further discusses his love for Taylor Swift and gets back to his podcasting roots. Cameron opines about a simple pleasure, a new tech obsession, and an old favorite.
The strikes are still striking (though they might not be by the time this comes out) so the Boys are still bringing you some nonstruck media in the meantime (though Chance pushes this line (he is the premier bad boy of podcasting)). This week Cameron discusses a new book AND an album from one of his favorite bands (the Boys go on to ridicule his musical taste in college) and Chance talks about a favorite TV show.
It is time for another edition of Henshin Fever, this time with a back t back episode recap, covering episode 4 "Antrooper Labyrinth" and episode 5 "Burn! Fight! Wrestler G!". Cameron makes some bold predictions for the season. Chance reveals some cool Toku suits. Programing change: We are shifting our weekly episode coverage into a biweekly coverage over two episodes. Soon, we will be filling those empty weeks with a Kamen Rider inspired actual play podcast with Chance, Cameron, and a new host joining us for those episodes. We hope you enjoy it.
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called 2023 the Boys come together to talk about Baldur's Gate 3 again, as a treat. The strike seems to be coming to an end soon and the Boys are happy to talk about some of the good things happening with the WGA and SAG strikes. Cameron brings the modern retro RPGs Sea of Stars and Chained Echoes. Chance talks about a new (to him) video game podcast, Triple Click.
The journey through Kamen Rider Gotchard continues as we watch and share our thoughts on Episode 3 'Bushido, Found".
