IN SEARCH OF A BRIDE GENESIS 24:1-28 A servant is sent to find a bride for Abraham’s son Isaac. The Lord goes before him and gives him great favor in his mission.


BOUGHT WITH A PRICE GENESIS 23:1-20 Sarah passes away. Abraham purchases a place where she can rest in peace. His business dealings with the world offer a good example for all believers. They also serve as a reminder of how God paid a price so we could rest in peace.




ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL GENESIS 21:8-34 Two tales and two wells. The first well provides refreshment for a thirsty mother and son: Hagar and Ishmael. The second well belonged to Abraham. It was taken from him then restored back. The themes of refreshment and restoration serve as encouragement for us. We are reminded of the well we draw from - the well of living water.


FROM DECEPTION TO CONCEPTION GENESIS 20:1-21:7 Abraham repeats the same blunder he made in Egypt - having Sarah pretend she’s not his wife. Lying gets Abraham in trouble once again. We do end on a happy note: the birth of Isaac.


GENESIS 18:16 - 19:3 I. An Outcry Against The Wicked; ch.18:16-21 II. An Appeal for The Righteous; ch.18:22-33 III. A Face Toward The Ground; ch.19:1-3 The Lord reveals to Abraham what He has in store for Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham intercedes on behalf of the people. In doing so he offers an example of humility and compassion.

NO LAUGHING MATTER GENESIS 18:1-15 Abraham gets another visit from the Lord. Once again, Abraham is assured Sarah will bear him a son. Sarah overhears and laughs.


GENESIS 17:1-27 I. The Covenant; vs.1-8 II. The Sign of the Covenant; vs.9-14 III. The Son of the Covenant; vs.15-22 IV. The Sealing of the Covenant; vs.23-27 God reminds Abram of the everlasting covenant. The covenant is signed and sealed.


WAITING BEATS RUSHING GENESIS 16:1-16 Abram and Sarai look to Hagar the maidservant to rush God’s promise. Things quickly go south. Hagar flees to a place where she has an unexpected encounter with The Lord.
