Our network of small farms throughout New York State proudly grows high-cannabinoid hemp, each with their own story and all situated on beautiful New York land. Each of our farmers takes pride in producing high quality hemp free of pesticides or herbicides for use in medicinal and nutritional products. 

It starts with hemp wine in 1997. Jim Castetter founded the first hemp infused wine, Hemp Wine America, in 1997. The company enjoyed break-out success until the government moved to shut him down due to lack of understanding of non-psychoactive hemp products.

In 2015, Kaelan Castetter began exploring the legality of bringing hemp wine back to market. Two years later, Sovereign Vines was launched as America’s Only Hemp Infused Wine. The hunt for the perfect strain.

Kaelan and Jim Castetter set out to grow hemp that possessed the perfect terpene profile to compliment their wine. Aldous Loyd joined the team at this point, bringing with him the experience of twenty years in the cannabis industry.

The team began exploring the emerging hemp market. A hemp industry in silos.

The corporate co-op is born.
The team began partnering with local farmers in the summer of 2018.
Castetter Sustainability Group was created to remediate the problems facing the New York hemp industry.

By forming a collective of farmers throughout the state we can secure more revenue for farmers, use the knowledge and experience of a statewide network, and create a consistent and high quality crop between farms.
