About

Decidedly twangy & slightly esoteric New York based musician, producer, writer and former Editor-in-Chief of Creem Magazine, Mark Patracca, aka DUSTY WRIGHT, takes time out to share a few KISS stories from a life on the front-lines of rock & roll ...The curator of Culture Catch, Dusty is as well-steeped an entertainment authority & aficionado as one might ever hope to meet (and a pretty good sport as he leans towards prog rock & punk, and admitted he doesn't own a KISS record!!!). Dusty's worn more hats in the biz than the guys on Bonanza, it's no wonder people call him 'the metaphysical cowboy'. He even ran Prince's fanzine, spending weeks at a time at Paisley Park  ...Dusty takes us from his first hearing "Strutter" on WMMS The Buzzard in Cleveland in '73 to meeting Gene Simmons in '92 to hear the Revenge pitch, stopping off on the way to 'alleged goings-on' July 23rd of '75 when KISS recorded their set in Wildwood, NJ, some of which would be used on their ultimate breakthrough ALIVE! ...I forgot to ask if Dusty's willing now to enlist. His wife did date Paul Stanley at one point. We'll call it even. That's rock & roll - KISStorian.com
