Interview with Jamie Taets

My name is Jaime Taets. I’m a CEO, public speaker, author, podcast host, and thought leader… and I’m focused on helping you uncover the fears that are holding you back today. My story begins with a corporate role at the largest privately-held corporation in the world. Thirteen years into that journey, I was comfortably uncomfortable, and I recognized that my strengths and approach would be better utilized outside the corporate world. Stepping out confidently (while facing my own fears), I launched Keystone Group International https://www.keystonegroupintl.com/ in 2013. This adventure has allowed me to create an impact beyond anything I could have imagined…at the human level. https://jaimetaets.com/about-jaime-taets/ https://www.keystonegroupintl.com/about/   Quick recap Michael and Jaime had a conversation about the importance of organizational culture, the need for leaders to cater to basic human needs, the significance of investing in employees, and the role of leadership coaching and professional development programs. They also touched upon the impact of a toxic culture on employee turnover and company growth. Jaime recently published a book, "The Culture Climb," aiming to simplify the complex concept of organizational culture for the average business leader.     Summary Work Culture and Leadership Discussion Michael and Jaime engaged in a conversation about work culture and its importance in organizations. They discussed their frustrations with companies that have not yet figured out how to cultivate a healthy culture, and how this impacts the workforce and the world at large. Jaime emphasized the importance of small changes and lighting a fire under leaders to initiate discussions. They also briefly discussed the pronunciation of Jaime's last name, Tates, before moving into their main discussion. Leadership and Change Management in Pandemic Times Jaime and Michael discussed the importance of managing change in organizations, particularly in light of the pandemic. Jaime emphasized the need for leaders to understand and cater to basic human needs such as certainty, significance, and connection. They highlighted the importance of leaders investing in their employees, fostering a culture where employees feel valued and motivated to exceed expectations. The conversation also touched on the underutilization of employees' capabilities, with Jaime suggesting that organizations should focus on maximizing the potential of their existing teams rather than hiring more people. Transforming Toxic Clinic: Investing in Employees Michael narrated their experience of turning around a toxic medical clinic into a trusting and productive environment. They stressed the importance of individual interactions with each team member to understand their needs and expectations. They also highlighted the story of a receptionist who was given the opportunity to grow and eventually rose to run another clinic. Michael emphasized the significance of investing in employees, even in difficult situations, and how this approach can enhance the overall work environment and employee retention. Jaime agreed with Michael's points, noting the importance of conscious leadership. Leadership Coaching and Strategic Thinking Michael and Jaime emphasized the role of leadership coaching, the significance of shaping team culture, and the importance of asking different questions to foster strategic thinking among team members. They agreed on the need for professional development programs and investing in their team's well-being. Jaime highlighted the direct impact of business strategies on results, underscoring the need to connect people and business outcomes. Michael highlighted the potential for cost-saving measures to boost revenue and productivity, stressing the need to ask different questions and focus on efficiency. Book Discussion on Company Culture Jaime and Michael discussed Jaime's recently published book, "The Culture Climb," which aims to simplify the complex concept of organizational culture for the average business leader. They emphasized the importance of a healthy company culture in promoting employee satisfaction, customer loyalty, and company growth. Jaime highlighted the book's practicality, offering actionable advice rather than abstract theories. They also touched upon the potential consequences of a toxic culture, such as employee turnover and company failure. Jaime encouraged readers to reach out for further discussion or advice. Interview with Tracey Hawkins from Lead Dog Recruiting

Tired of posting your job and getting bombarded with unqualified candidates that don’t even come close to what you’re looking for? Did they even read your job post before applying? Not to mention the time it takes to wade through all that chaff and, in some cases, pay for every eyeball that reads or applies. I used to be you. I was an HR Manager for a manufacturing company and always struggled to balance recruiting with the other 100 things I was responsible for juggling. There were always employee conflicts, performance issues or looming deadlines that seemed far more urgent than that open position that no one applied for, that one position you inwardly groaned when you got because you knew it was going to be a beast. The other 95% of your job seemed more urgent until that hiring manager complained about the lack of support they were getting from HR, from you. They forgot about all the extra hours you pulled to ensure the ISO audit was successful, or how expertly you handled that difficult employee on their team. I know your struggle. You tried. You posted it, but you knew the right person wouldn’t fall in your lap. You engaged some external agencies and got a flurry of resumes the first few weeks, but that stream of candidates dried up when the hiring manager wasn’t interested in many of them. Abraham Lincoln said, “Give me 6 hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first 4 sharpening the axe.” I use that same philosophy. Talent Hawk Recruiting will save you time and help you hire the right people who fit the job and your culture. We are so sure we provide a 90-day candidate guarantee. Since 2020, we’ve only had 3 candidates that didn’t work out during the replacement period and successfully backfilled them all. Every company that has engaged my services continues to use me and refer me to others. Clients love how thorough we are at getting to the heart of what they’re looking for in a hire. To find out more, message me and I’m happy to share more insight into what I can do for you and your organization. thawkins@talenthawkrecruiting.com 919-601-5113   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracey-hawkins-leaddog/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/tracey-hawkins-sphr-2429596

Interview with Eureka Lithium's Jeff Wilson

Lithium Exploration: Eureka's New Junior Company Jeff Wilson discussed Eureka, a new exploration company focusing on the lithium space. The company, listed on the Canadian Stock Exchange a year and a half ago (Stock symbol:  ERKA), raised significant funds and started field exploration in 2023. Jeff also highlighted the role of a renowned prospector, Shawn Ryan, who brought a thesis about potential lithium exploration in an overlooked area of Canada. Michael D. Levitt expressed interest in the company's approach and the promising lithium readings from government surveys. Electric Vehicles and Lithium Demand Rise Michael and Jeff discussed the increasing global demand for electric vehicles and the subsequent need for lithium, a critical component in lithium-ion batteries. They noted that governments, particularly in California and China, are pushing for electric vehicle adoption, which will further strain the demand for lithium. Jeff highlighted how automakers are investing in the lithium sector to secure their supply and prevent potential disruptions in production. Michael pointed out that this is a significant shift for the auto industry, as these companies are now directly investing in parts production, a trend not seen since the days of Henry Ford. Northern Quebec's Mineral Potential Discussed Michael D. Levitt and Jeff Wilson discussed the mineral potential of Northern Quebec. Jeff highlighted the region's rich mineral history, particularly in gold, silver, copper, and nickel. He emphasized the importance of large land packages for exploration and the need for infrastructure support. Interview with Bjørn Ekeberg

Bjørn Ekeberg is Co-founder & CEO of Recharge Health, creators of FlexBeam https://recharge.health/?v=1d7b33fc26ca, the world's first targeted infrared therapy device.    FlexBeam naturally accelerates recovery time for athletes, fitness and strength trainers, and works for all active individuals looking to heal injuries, muscular-skeletal pain or improve their physical energy.   Bjørn https://www.drbjorn.com/ has a highly unusual background. With a PhD in Philosophy of Science, his speaking engagements range from cosmology to health and recovery. He is an unorthodox thinker who likes to challenge the unquestionable and promote newer and better ways of understanding and living.   The near-infrared technology used by FlexBeam was originally developed by NASA. In-house studies have shown it to deliver a 33% faster recovery after a muscle pull, 75% reduction in muscular-skeletal pain, 40% improvement in strength performance, and a 30% improvement in deep sleep.    First launched on Indiegogo https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/flexbeam-the-revolutionary-recovery-device#/ in October 2020, FlexBeam has done $5M+ in sales and has major brand ambassadors from the sports world, including Norwegian Tennis star Casper Ruud https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4to_J-ZQsk and Norwegian soccer player and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_%C3%98degaard.   Quick recap The main topics discussed in this conversation are the potential of red light technology in health and sports tech, the development and marketing of the world's first wearable infrared therapy device, the importance of investing in research and development for innovation, the non-pharmaceutical approach to health, the benefits of natural remedies, the concept of viewing the body as a natural healing system, the role of light therapy in promoting natural healing, and the significance of personal health and wellness.     Summary of the conversation   Health, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Focus Michael and Bjørn discussed the focus of their upcoming conversation, agreeing to prioritize the health aspect. They touched on the possibility of including aspects of entrepreneurship and leadership, given Bjørn's personal experiences. Bjørn clarified that their conversation would be recorded in both video and audio formats. They were also set to discuss Bjørn's latest project, a health solution based on infrared technology. Red Light Technology: Health and Sports Tech Game-Changer Bjørn and Michael discussed the potential of red light technology in health and sports tech. Bjørn, who has been involved with this technology for about five years, explained that it is a game-changer that can improve health and shift perceptions about light and health. Michael agreed, noting the impact of sunlight on mood and mental health. Bjørn shared their journey, which began when they were introduced to this technology by friends who stumbled upon NASA research about the impact of near infrared and red light on the physiology of the body. Bjørn was surprised by the lack of awareness about this technology, given its decades-long research history. Innovative Wearable Therapy Device Discussion Bjørn shared about their team's journey in designing and marketing the world's first wearable infrared therapy device. They emphasized the importance of making such technology user-friendly and accessible, as part of a larger mission to raise awareness about the benefits of light therapy. Michael echoed Bjørn's sentiments, noting the tendency to undervalue and underutilize discoveries once they are made. They pointed out that there is a need to further explore the potential applications of such innovations, using the example of a new method to print a hip replacement without surgery. Innovation and Alternative Health Approaches Michael and Bjørn emphasized the importance of investing in research and development (R&D) for innovation. Bjørn highlighted the challenge of making these innovations accessible to the majority of people and raising awareness about them. They discussed a non-pharmaceutical approach to health, including the use of light therapy for pain relief and muscle repair, which is seen as a more powerful and broader approach than the dominant biochemical paradigm. The conversation concluded with a discussion about the resistance these alternative approaches often face due to challenging traditional beliefs about medicine. Natural Healthcare: Benefits and Innovations Michael discussed their belief in natural approaches to healthcare, emphasizing the potential benefits of using natural remedies over synthetic medicines due to their lower risk of side effects. They highlighted the importance of the body's ability to naturally consume and absorb these remedies. Michael also expressed their support for innovative products that promote health and wellness. Towards the end, they showed interest in learning about future developments and innovations in this field, prompting Bjørn to further discuss the paradigm shift in healthcare. Self-Healing Mechanisms and Innovative Solutions Bjørn discussed the concept of viewing the body as a natural healing system and highlighted the importance of understanding its self-healing mechanisms. They criticized the conventional biochemical or pharmaceutical paradigm that views health care and healing as something external. Bjørn emphasized that the body's own capacity to heal should be recognized. They also mentioned their product, 'Flex Beam', a wearable device that uses near-infrared and red light therapy to enhance the body's natural healing capacity. Bjørn pointed out that technological advancements like 'Flex Beam' were not possible a few years ago due to the high cost of LEDs, but now, due to technological improvements, they are becoming more affordable. Michael agreed with Bjørn's insights, appreciating the beauty of innovation and the potential of discovering affordable solutions. Health, Wellness, and Innovative Solutions Michael and Bjørn had a detailed discussion about the importance of personal health and wellness, emphasizing the need for innovative solutions that can help people manage their health actively rather than reactively. They explored the concept of the human body as a "battery" that needs recharging, and highlighted the role of light therapy in this process. Bjørn mentioned the device called Flex Beam, which has gained popularity in sports and health sectors for its effectiveness and ease of use. The conversation concluded with Bjørn providing details about Recharge Health, the company behind Flex Beam, and inviting others to learn more about the product and the team.   Links: https://recharge.health/no?ref=breakfastleadership https://recharge.health/no?ref=breakfastleadership https://www.drbjorn.com/  https://www.facebook.com/theflexbeam/  https://www.instagram.com/theflexbeam/  https://www.linkedin.com/company/rechargeyourhealth/?viewAsMember=true  https://www.youtube.com/@Rechargehealth

Interview with Doug Lennick and Chuck Wachendorfer with think2perform

Every leader wants to boost their team's productivity. The first step is to strengthen your leadership skills through learning agility, effective communication, and embracing empathy and compassion.   Experts Doug Lennick and Chuck Wachendorfer, partners at think2perform and authors of the new book DON’T WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO FIX IT, are available for interviews to discuss their unbeatable approach to productivity:   1. Learning Agility — A leader's ability to analyze new business situations and solve problems is a top priority. Leaders must be curious, choose growth over comfort, resist defensiveness, experiment — and share these skills with their teams to boost productivity.   2. Effective Communication — Effective communication is a function of someone attempting to send a message and someone receiving that message. If the receiver does not understand the intention of the communication, then the communication is ineffective and impedes productivity. A big problem often occurs when leaders do not communicate what activities must be undertaken to achieve the organization’s goals.   3. Embracing Empathy and Compassion — This leadership skill is more relevant than ever. Empathy is about understanding. Compassion is empathy in action. Any leader who actively cares about the well-being of their people will be rewarded with best efforts, higher productivity, and retention of the best and the brightest.   Doug Lennick is the founding CEO of think2perform, a high-performance leadership development firm serving organizations in various industries. Chuck Wachendorfer is President of Distribution at think2perform. They have worked with clients, including American Express, Wells Fargo, Comerica Bank, TD Wealth of Canada, and Charles Schwab.
