In a couple of weeks the entire premium industry will be making the pilgrimage to Las Vegas to take part in the world's largest premium cigar trade show. This years tradeshow will be taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from March 22-26. This year the world's largest trade show for tobacco products just took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in Nevada. Pete Shultis and the BCA Crew dive into the Total Products Expo and discusses the shift in business that has taken place for premium cigars and all other tobacco products. Premium cigars are a category unlike any other cigar category on the market. They should be treated as such. An amazing freestyle show focused on current topics and evolving into a full blown dialogue on premium cigars, opioids, alcohol, the FDA, and the SBA. The "Arbitrary and Capricious" behavior the FDA has exhibited over the years is unacceptable. They allow over 750,000 people to die from opioid abuse over the past 2 decades through FDA approved drugs, yet they want to raise the false claim that premium cigars are harmful to people, when there is zero proof in any scientific journal on the matter. The Boutique Cigar Association stands firm on the topic that small family owned boutique cigar companies that produce premium cigars are not the problem when it comes to tobacco. All of the member companies combined import less than 3,000,000 cigars a year into the United States. That represents a consumer base of less than 0.0005 % of the U.S. population. Boutique Cigar companies and/or Premium Cigar Companies are not the problem.

This morning the Premium Cigar Association hosted a gathering with Board Members of the Boutique Cigar Association and the Diplomatic Cigar Corps. The focus was around understanding and empowering small family owned boutique cigar companies. Direct insights from the Diplomatic Community from the Embassy of Honduras and the Dominican Republic. A wonderful session to help protect and ensure the businesses of new and old boutique cigar companies.

As you may have heard by now the FDA wants to implement Requirements for Tobacco Product Manufacturing Practice, this includes Premium Cigars. Can you imagine the FDA visiting factories in third world countries and enforcing Manufacturing guidelines on Premium Cigar Factories ? Is this even possible ? It's time premium cigars are exempt from all FDA Regulations .... Across the board !!!
