If you have had situations in your life that you have overcome through faith in God's word before for similar situations (finances, heath, etc.), but now what you are facing seems to be beating you, make sure you tune in to the service today. We will be looking at the disciples who had this very thing happen to them, and Jesus taught them how to overcome it. Also, when Jesus says “O faithless generation” who is He speaking to? If the disciples, they were speaking to this situation to change it, and those who brought the boy came with some kind of expectation for a miracle, so who is faithless?

Can our sin be the cause of an affliction we can't seem to get freed from? That's a question Jesus answers in John 9. Many people, just like in Jesus' day, saw sickness, affliction, and such trouble as being caused by sin, and the disciples asked Jesus about this with the man born blind. Jesus gives a clear answer for the question, and we also see the tremendous growth and change in a man who went from not knowing much about Jesus, to becoming timid and afraid to stand up for him but finishing with boldness in the face of adversity and a great receiver of the truth Jesus spoke.

There is a difference between begging for something from God and receiving it through faith, and this healing encounter Jesus has with the Deaf man from Decapolis helps us to see the difference in our own lives. Our flesh doesn’t receive on faith principles, but by presumptions of its own devising resorts to things like begging. The compulsion to beg arises when we leave word-based hope for another kind of hope, putting faith in something other than God’s word.

Can you be healed when your life is not in obedience to the things the Holy Spirit or God's word has spoken to you about? Many believers wonder "How can God heal me if I'm still not doing what He spoke to me about?" Looking at this healing encounter with the two blind men we look to answer this question. Our children are exposed to spiritual things both good and bad away from the home. Questions can arise and if they do not know what the word teaches on these things, fear can find a place. Others love to spread doubt and unbelief like it’s a higher walk of the Spirit or a more grounded understanding of faith. What is a person who is looking to believe God for their miracle to do with such people in their life? Our emotions can get involved and tells us things to say, but it is better that we follow the character the Bible teaches instead of the reaction our flesh wants to promote. We are aware that the condition of their heart affects the people and the atmosphere around them, as well as the people they come in contact with. Is it possible that this attitude of theirs and it’s presence around me is hindering the power of God from working on me? Do I need to do as Abraham did when God commanded him and have separation? Also, what is legal to do on a Sabbath? Will someone else’s rules/laws alter your obedience to the word of God?
