Super Sunday | Liverpool show title mettle as City crisis deepens | Keane hails huge Liverpool display | Carra: City have a top-four fight

Dave Jones presents Super Sunday from Anfield alongside Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Micah Richards, and Daniel Sturridge, who analyse Liverpool’s impressive win against a fragile Manchester City, whose winless run extends to seven games. The result means the hosts have an 11-point gap over City with a third of the season played. Keane praised the defensive resilience of Liverpool, saying they ‘showed a real desire to keep a clean sheet’. Carragher feels Man City’s struggles will continue and believes they will have a real fight to ensure they finish in a top-four position. After the match, Pat Davidson spoke to both Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, with the Liverpool captain saying that they will not get ahead of themselves despite having a nine-point lead at the top of the table. Arne Slot also gave his reaction, describing the win as a near-perfect performance, whilst Pep Guardiola said that he and his players will reset and start from zero as they try to overcome this difficult period.

SNF | Arsenal cut gap to Liverpool with big win over West Ham | Redknapp heaps praise on Saka: ‘His level is frightening’

Kelly Cates was joined by Jamie Redknapp and Theo Walcott on Saturday Night Football and watched Arsenal travel to West Ham. The Gunners cut Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table with their 5-2 win at the London stadium. Redknapp heaped praise on Bukayo Saka, saying that ‘his level is frightening’ after the winger registered another two assists and a goal. Saka was named as player of the match and spoke to Natalie Gedra after the game, and said he takes ‘pleasure from creating and scoring but the greatest pleasure is to win’. There are also the postmatch views from both Mikel Arteta and Julen Lopetegui, who was critical of some of Anthony Taylor’s refereeing decisions.

There is also reaction from player of the match Tyler Dibling, goalscorer Flynn Downes, and Fabian Hurzeler. Russell Martin spoke pitchside after the game and struggled to accept the officials' reasoning for ruling their potential winner out.

The result means the champions’ losing streak extends to four games in all competitions and is the first time this has happened under Pep Guardiola. The visitors led at half-time, but Redknapp described their second-half performance as one of the worst he has seen by a team managed by Guardiola. There is also reaction from goalscorer Matt O’Riley, who netted the winner on his Premier League debut after returning from injury. Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler hailed the impact his substitutes made on the match, while Pep Guardiola felt the club's injury list was a factor in their defeat on the South Coast.

Michael Keane and super-sub Beto give their reaction to Juliette Ferrington, and the Portuguese forward revealed it was an emotional moment for him to score after having a difficult period recently. Marco Silva also gives his post-match thoughts and felt the result was unfair on his players after the performance they produced. Sean Dyche said that despite being pleased with securing a point, the team’s display was not close to the level he expects and demands.

Carra described Callum Hudson-Odoi’s performance as ‘outstanding’ and thinks the winger may now be showing the talent he has. Chris Wood continued his fine goalscoring form this season by netting a double against his former club and gave his reaction after the match, saying he wouldn’t be anything without his teammates. Ryan Yates was also on the scoresheet for the visitors and reflected on the win, along with Leicester’s Harry Winks, who assisted Jamie Vardy’s equaliser in the first half. There are also the views of a delighted Nuno Espirito Santo, who praised his players for their commitment, while Steve Cooper felt the Foxes ‘poor mistakes’ were self-inflicted and ultimately punished by the opposition.

The visitors’ efforts were not helped by William Saliba receiving a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity in the first half. Redknapp felt Arsenal struggled all game but did praise Andoni Iraola for his tactics in what was a statement win for the Cherries.  There is reaction from both dressing rooms with goalscorer Ryan Christie revealing he was delighted to get on the scoresheet after not doing so for a long time. A deflated Declan Rice said that there were no complaints about the result but insisted they cannot keep making mistakes. Mikel Arteta also reflected on the disappointing defeat by saying that two big errors cost him and his players. In the final part, Redknapp and Walcott give their views on the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the new England manager.
