What Does Luke Tell Us About Jesus?

As we explore a belief system, we're often told to "just have faith". But wouldn't it be better if we could rely on research, analysis and evidence instead? When exploring the life of Christ, we can do just that. Centuries of scholarly investigation have amassed a detailed picture of the historical Jesus, a man nicknamed "the Word", whose three-year ministry changed the world. Join Horizon for WORD SEARCH as we examine the historical biographies that affirm what Christ did and who he claimed to be.

The Habit of Prayer | 2 Kings 18-19

Our lives are the sum of our habits. Good habits spark positive results; bad habits can set us back. This is true for everyone, including leaders at the highest levels. Even kings. As we study the book of 2 Kings, we see how Israel's rulers were affected by their choices and attitudes. And their people felt the results as well. Each king exemplified a particular spiritual discipline that we can study and adopt. Join Horizon for Royal Habits, a verse by verse study of 2 Kings 18-25.

Honoring Multiple Generations

Father’s Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the impact of men in our lives. But relationships can be tricky, and, frankly, some parents are better than others. In 2 Kings, we learn about a leader named Hezekiah who had a “bad dad.” Instead of continuing the cycle, Hezekiah strove to do better, looking to God as an example of a good dad, and used that inspiration to rebuild his nation and leave a legacy of humility and service -- one that honors God, the perfect Father. Father's Day will be celebrated at all three services on Sunday, June 18th.

Honoring Multiple Generations | 2 Kings 18:1-16

The book of 2 Kings chronicles the ups and downs of the divided kingdom. God has sent a series of prophets, begging His people to be faithful. Instead, the leaders of Israel and Judah fall prey to their wickedness, and the Lord removes His protection. The disarray that follows is a sad reminder that discipline is necessary when disobedience reigns. Though it happened many centuries ago, the lessons of 2 Kings are still relevant today: God wants to be our first king, not the second. Join Horizon as we go verse by verse through this dynamic book.

A Place for Blessing

Buying a new home is a significant decision. Finding the location, signing contracts, packing, moving and decorating. We approach it all carefully. Relationships within the home are even more important, but few of us treat them the same way. We often just perpetuate marriage or parenting cycles learned from previous generations, provoking conflict or dysfunction. Join Horizon for FAMILY ROOM as we explore strategies to help us decorate our homes with understanding, trust, resiliency, joy, and love.

The Beauty of Astronomy

We live in an age where people act like science and faith can’t possibly coexist. It’s irrational to think that the two can coexist, right? Actually, God is a rational being who created a rational world. And we can study it rationally. Increasingly, scientists are uncovering evidence that shows a sophisticated and inventive mind behind the scenes of our intricate universe. Join Horizon for DOWN TO A SCIENCE as we investigate the thesis that there’s a Creator out there who not only made the world, but desires a personal relationship with each of us.
