A new helicopter ambulance will operate in Thomasville after Air Evac announced it would cease serving the area. Haynes LifeFlight confirmed it will locate a helicopter in Thomasville in early October, Mayor Sheldon Day told city councilmembers at the Sept. 11 meeting. Day said initial plans are for the helicopter to utilize a hangar in Grove Hill.
