Leslie Thomas shows how the story of Ruth illustrates many aspects of the gospel, particularly the kinsman redeemer which foreshadowed Jesus who redeemed his kin by paying the price for sin on the cross. Watch: https://youtu.be/lkaxOMzYu1o

God has compassion on the world, especially in the face of death. Jesus had compassion and healed people. But most of all, God's compassion is effective in Christ's death on the cross, meeting our greatest need, forgiveness and reconciliation with God. The result is eternal life with him. Praise God for such wonderful salvation. Watch: https://youtu.be/JB8SXx1VkPA

Those who don't need forgiveness don't need Jesus as Saviour. Those who don't need Jesus as Saviour don't love him. Those who don't love him treat him do not give him the respect, honour and worship he deserves. A Pharisee named Simon didn't realise that Jesus was God, could read people's minds, and had the authority to forgive sins. Also, he didn't realise how much of a sinner he was, and how much he too needed a Saviour, until Jesus made that clear to him. Those who are legalistic and self-righteous are sinners just like those who are immoral. Both need forgiveness, both need Jesus as the Saviour and Lord. Accept him, accept God's forgiveness, by simply confessing your sin and trusting in him. Praise God for such great salvation. Watch: https://youtu.be/9UjqyW_Z3to

Managing the change to the new normal after lockdown should not be focused just on the changes. Above all, we should still focus on worshiping God, enjoying God, and glorifying God. We will do these slightly differently after lockdown. But let's focus still on God, not the changes. Worship of God changed in some respects from Old Testament/old covenant to New Testament/new covenant. But despite some discontinuity, those things which continued were much more significant: worship of God, enjoyment in God, glorifying God. Watch: https://youtu.be/mu-jtOY0LhQ

How should we respond to George Floyd's death, and many others before him, and Black Lives Matter? Firstly, we empathise and sympathise which those who suffer racism, which is far more widespread than many people realise. Secondly, we seek justice and reform in all the places and systems where it is needed. But thirdly, we seek underlying change, people changed in their hearts which will result in deeper and longer-lasting change. This change can only come about when we recognise that the deeper problem behind racism is sin. And the solution is the gospel of faith in Christ Jesus, resulting in not only forgiveness for sin, and a new relationship of acceptance with God the Father, but also a changed heart, a new heart, by the Holy Spirit. Faith in Christ results in lasting change, and deeper reconciliation, unity with people from all cultures and races, as one redeemed people of God. Unity in Christ is the ultimate solution to the sin of racism. Watch: https://youtu.be/so-HJOQOaHo
