One Year Bible: April 1st, 24:Learning to Embrace God's Love: Letting Go of Self-Reliance and Finding Hope

__ __ ONE YEAR BIBLE PODCAST: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on 'The Daily Radio Bible' for a daily 20-minute spiritual journey. Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Greetings Daily Radio Bible listeners! In today's devotional, we heard Hunter speak about the transformation that comes from releasing our grip on control and self-reliance, and instead embracing a life of dependence and trust in God's presence. Hunter reminded us that God allows us to go through difficult experiences to break our grip and open our hands to His love and power. In 2nd Corinthians, Paul describes how he learned to stop relying on himself and instead trust in God's power, even in the face of near-death experiences. He encourages us to look to the one who suffered with us and for us, Jesus Christ, who gives us hope beyond our suffering and even joy in the midst of it. Hunter explained that God's love is a self-giving, radically forgiving, and co-suffering love. This love meets us at our deepest levels of pain, shame, and wounds, mending and healing us, and even allowing us to comfort others who are suffering. So if you're facing suffering today and have a "death grip" on your circumstances, open up your hands to God's love. Experience His love today, and allow Him to begin the process of healing, mending, and making you new. As we continue on our journey, let's remember that God is with us in our suffering, and His love is always there to comfort and renew us. May you experience God's love and healing in a deeper way today. Blessings TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: WWW.DAILYRADIOBIBLE.COM http://www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the NEW LIVING TRANSLATION. http://www.nlt.to/   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible SUBSCRIBE TO US AT YOUTUBE: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/@DAILYRADIOBIBLE/FEATURED OTHER PODCASTS: LISTEN WITH APPLE PODCAST __ __

One Year Bible: March 31st, 24: Abimelech's Tragic Reign: Lessons on the Consequences of Choosing Control

TODAY'S EPISODE: Dear Daily Radio Bible listeners, On this Easter Sunday, we are reminded of the victory Christ has won over death and the promise of eternal life through Him. In today's devotional, we reflected on the choices made by Abimelech and Abraham, highlighting the contrast between pursuing our own ways and surrendering to God's will. Abimelech, faced with a choice between 70 coins and his 70 brothers, chose his own path, leading to tragic consequences. In contrast, Abraham, under the oak tree at Shechem, reaffirmed his covenant relationship with God, embracing His way and becoming the forefather of many nations. The Psalmist reminds us that no amount of human wisdom or scheming can secure eternal life, for redemption does not come easily. However, the good news is that our lives have already been won for us through Jesus. His resurrection power gives us hope beyond the inevitability of death, bringing us into everlasting resurrection life. As we celebrate the risen life of our brother, Jesus, may we learn to trust Him with our uncertainties, fears, and concerns. Let us surrender our plans and schemes and allow Him to shepherd us through life and death, knowing that He is the God who is love, good, and making all things new. May this Easter Sunday bring renewed faith and trust in the victory of Christ over death, leading us to experience the eternal life He has promised. Blessings TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Greetings Daily Radio Bible Community, In today's devotional, we delve into the powerful truth of embracing our true identity in God. We are reminded that regardless of how we may feel, we are who God says we are. Just as Gideon was called a mighty warrior by God, even though he felt like the least of the least, we too are called by God to fulfill our unique purpose. Like Gideon, God comes looking for us, no matter our state of being, and delights in making the least, the greatest. It is God who ultimately defines who we are. Have you heard Him call you daughter, son, or friend? Then that is who you are. We are encouraged to listen and receive the blessing of the name that He has given us, and to live in the light of that truth. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Dear Daily Radio Bible Community, In today's episode titled "March26thDevo," Hunter delves into the importance of recognizing our human limitations and putting our complete trust in the work that Jesus has accomplished for us. He reminds us of the tendency of the flesh to insist, "I will do it," drawing parallels to instances in Peter's life where he declared his loyalty to Jesus, only to fall short when tested. Hunter emphasizes the pivotal truth that Jesus is the one who has truly accomplished what we could never do on our own. He highlights how Jesus remained faithful even when we were not, ultimately fulfilling what Adam and his descendants could not. By keeping the covenant and serving His Father in unwavering obedience, Jesus accomplished what we never could. The message is clear – instead of declaring, "We will do it," we are called to proclaim, "It is done." Because of Jesus' finished work, we can confidently live in the victory and promises that Christ has secured for us. Hunter encourages us to embrace this truth, reminding us that through Jesus, we can dwell in the land, remain in Him, and experience the fullness of life. Let's meditate on these powerful words and allow them to shape our perspective as we navigate our daily lives. May the truth of Jesus' accomplished work bring us comfort, assurance, and renewed hope. One Year Bible: March 25th, 24: Embracing the Truth of Your Being: A New Way to Live and Love

TODAY'S EPISODE: Dear Daily Radio Bible Community, In today's episode, Hunter reminds us of the struggles and temptations we face in our daily lives. Drawing from the Old Testament, he emphasizes how the Israelites succumbed to the temptation of unbelief and failed to enter into what God had done for them. However, as believers in Christ, the message is clear - our lives are not meant to be defined by struggle and failure. Instead, Paul points us to the victorious life of Christ living and abiding in us. The consequences of Christ's victory have fundamentally altered our being. We are no longer slaves but God's special possession. We have been drawn into the very life of God, and this truth is a gift that sets us apart from the world. Yes, we will face challenges, temptations, and suffering, but the spirit's life in us empowers us to endure through these struggles with grace and peace. As you reflect on the truth of your being, may you realize that everything changed when Christ triumphed on the cross. You are forgiven, loved, and made new. You have been given freedom and a new land to live in - a land flowing with life in Him. Our prayer is that the revelation of Christ breaks forth in your heart and mind, empowering you to live a life of faith, hope, and love - a life that reflects Christ's cruciform love, selflessness, and forgiveness. May you embrace the truth of your being and live in the power of Christ's victory. Blessings! Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: In today's episode, Heather delves into the lesson of the ox from the Bible, uncovering profound implications behind seemingly obscure laws. She highlights the significance of not dismissing these passages as unrelated to our everyday experiences, but rather recognizing their deeper meaning. Heather emphasizes that the lessons from the Old Testament are not confined to the past but are also intended for us today. As she explores the allegorical and analogous interpretations of Scripture, she encourages us to engage with the text in a spiritually meaningful way. Drawing parallels between the instructions given to the farmers and the spiritual guidance for our lives, she urges us to embrace a principle of intentionality in seeking and receiving God's blessings. Just as the children of Israel discovered unoccupied land and gifts yet to be realized in their lives, we too can chart out the boundaries of God's blessings and experience more of the life He desires for us. Heather's insightful reflections challenge us to consider the spiritual implications of our everyday actions and decisions, and to grasp the greater purpose that God has for our lives. We invite you to tune in to today's episode and ponder the spiritual significance within the seemingly mundane. Let's journey together as we seek and embrace the life that God is offering us. One Year Bible: March 23rd, 24: Identity and Inheritance: Finding Courage and Clarity in God's Promises

TODAY'S EPISODE: Growing up in a family with divorce, there were times I didn't feel at home when visiting my father. The home, its rooms, the toys, all of it didn't feel like mine. I felt displaced, like an interloper. But this thread isn't about blaming anyone; it's about facing insecurities.  Through the years, I've struggled with a diminished view of myself, failing to fully understand my identity. But today's reading about the tribe of Manasseh struck a chord. They asked for more land, and Joshua replied, "Take all you need." It's a marvel because I often felt unworthy of asking for more.  But Joshua's response and the boldness of the 5 daughters of Zelophehad, who asked for their inheritance, made me realize something profound. We all have a good Father who values us and sees us as deserving of His inheritance. Not because we meet some standard, but because we're family.  We can have the same clarity and boldness to see and take what is ours in Christ. Like the daughters of Zelophehad, we can reach out and claim what is rightfully ours. It's a prayer I have for my own soul, for my family, and for each one of you reading this.  May you embrace the truth of your worth and boldly step into your inheritance. Let's learn from the courage of those who knew their value and ask for what is rightfully theirs. This is a prayer for all of us. May it be yours, and may it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Dear Daily Radio Bible Family, In today's episode of the Daily Radio Bible, we were reminded of the inspiring story of Caleb and the powerful message about faith. We learned that just as Caleb saw how big God was and made the giants seem small, we are encouraged to cultivate our faith and grow in our trust in God, no matter how old we are. The episode emphasized the importance of coming to God's word daily, not because it's magic, but because it's through the Bible that the rehabilitation of our minds takes place. As we immerse ourselves in the good news about Christ, our faith is strengthened and our imaginations are expanded so that we can more fully grasp who we are in God's eyes. This faith empowers us to take hold of the territories God wants us to occupy in this life. We were reminded that growing old should not deplete our faith, but rather, like Caleb, we should continue to grow in faith until the very end. Let us echo Caleb's bold declaration and say, "Give me this mountain. I want the mountain that is God himself." May the message shared in today's episode resonate deeply with you and inspire you to keep growing in your faith each day. As we continue on our spiritual journey together, let's embrace the vision that God has for us and expect it to change everything. Stay blessed! Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Dear Daily Radio Bible Community, In today's episode, Hunter delves into the theme of shrewdness within faith, drawing parallels between the Gibeonites and Rahab. Both demonstrated a kind of faith rooted in wisdom and cunning, ultimately leading to their deliverance. Hunter highlights how their shrewdness was a demonstration of their faith in God, the God of Israel, and their willingness to make peace with Him. We are reminded that sometimes faith can look a lot like shrewdness, as seen in Jesus' parable of the shrewd manager who sacrificed in order to gain life. Hunter encourages us to consider how this kind of shrewdness reflects our relationships with God, His people, and the world. Paul's teachings to the Corinthians also emphasize the call to live by a faith that is shrewd, investing primarily in our relationships and surrendering our own ways for the sake of peace and life. May we all embrace a faith that is shrewd, cunning, wise, and obedient, seeking wisdom in our daily interactions and relationships. Let's cherish the prayer for faith in our own souls, families, and for one another. Tune in to today's episode on Daily Radio Bible for an insightful exploration of the shrewdness of faith. Engage with scripture readings, heartfelt devotionals, and collective prayers that draw you into the heart of God's love. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: In our daily lives, we often carry hidden burdens and struggles that we prefer to keep buried deep within. The story of Achan serves as a powerful reminder of the internal battles we face, even when we may appear victorious on the outside. Similar to Achan's hidden treasures, we too may have unresolved issues and secrets in our hearts that we struggle to trust God with. The question arises: do we have something buried within us that we have refused to confront and release to God's grace? However, amidst our struggles, there is hope. The story of Achan also points us to a greater truth: Jesus is far better in this narrative. Jesus offers us the chance to unearth and confront the secrets in our lives, and in return, provides us with forgiveness, grace, and freedom from the weight of our past mistakes. Just as Achan faced the severe consequences of his hidden sins, we are reminded that Jesus has come to set us free from the darkness within us. His love, sacrifice, and resurrection offer us a path to liberation and healing. Through Jesus, we can find the strength to surrender our burdens and embrace the light of His love and forgiveness. As we reflect on this message, may we find solace in the truth that Jesus has come to free us from the burdens of our past. Let's take a moment to surrender our hidden struggles to Him and embrace the freedom and peace that He offers. Blessings! TODAY'S EPISODE: Hello Daily Radio Bible community, In today's episode, Hunter shares a powerful message about finding strength and courage in God's pursuit of us. The story of Rahab, a seemingly unlikely figure in the biblical narrative, reminds us that God's love and redemption extend to the most unexpected places and people. As we reflect on the journey of Joshua and the spies entering the land of promise, we are reminded that God assured Joshua of His presence with the words, "Be strong and courageous." This same assurance is extended to us today. Just as God placed His feet in Rahab's home, symbolizing His pursuit of her and her family, we are reminded that God makes each one of us a priority. He pursues us with His relentless love and offers us the strength and courage to step into the fullness of His promises. Let's embrace the good news that God has pursued us and continues to do so. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: In today's episode, Hunter delved into the profound message of the atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Despite being considered foolish and ineffective by some, this act of love and sacrifice was, in fact, the defeat of death itself. Jesus demonstrated the self-giving, radically forgiving, and co-suffering love of God, serving as the perfect atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world. Hunter reminded us that atonement literally means "at one-ment." On the cross, Jesus was at one with us, uniting himself to the whole world in the moment of our deepest darkness. He showed that trust in him, though seen as foolish and weak to some, is in fact the very essence of our life and hope. As we reflect on this message, may we wake up to the freedom and forgiveness that we now live in. One Year Bible: March 15th, 24: Understanding the New Principle: Christ's Fulfillment and Sacrificial Love

TODAY'S EPISODE: In today's episode, we delves into the powerful contrast between the old principle of "quid pro quo" and the new principle based on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ. We highlight the impossibility of living up to the standard of holiness as described in the old covenant and emphasizes the fear and uncertainty that comes with it. However, in the New Testament, we see a transformative shift as Paul describes a new creation, made possible by the self-giving, sacrificial love of Jesus on the cross. This new principle is a reflection of God's nature, one that is not capricious or overly sensitive, but rather embodies the deep love and mercy of God for humanity. As we reflect on these profound teachings, let us take a deep breath and find gratitude in the realization that Jesus has achieved for us all the blessings of God. His ultimate sacrifice has ushered in a new creation and a new way of living for those who believe in him. Let us all align our hearts with the cruciform love of God and live in the reality of the new creation, with gratitude and love. Thank you for being a part of the Daily Radio Bible community. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity.
