The First Nations University of Canada is launching a four-year and Indigenous Journalism and Communication program. The first of its kind in North America, the Bachelor of Arts program will blend multimedia training with Indigenous languages and issues. Commercial fishers from northern Saskatchewan are looking to make their voices heard ahead of some big changes. The federal government is in the process of transitioning Fresh Water Fish Marketing Corporation away from being a federal Crown Corporation. Fresh Water Fish has been a major buyer for northern commercial fishers for many decades. Recently the Saskatchewan Cooperative Fishers Limited met in Prince Albert to hammer out an expression of interest regarding the future of Fresh Water Fish.
