With the New Orleans Saints clearly focused on bolstering pass rush with the signing of Chase Young, they could keep it going by drafting Johnny Newton or Byron Murphy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Braden Fiske and T'Vondre Sweat would be great options as well to add to Bryan Bresee, Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders in the second round. But building the defensive interior even more in 2024 could go a long way in improving against the run and making life hard for Kirk Cousins, Bryce Young and Baker Mayfield.
Trading back in the second round could make a lot of sense for New Orleans as well especially with the chance of landing a playmaker like Brenden Rice. Theo Johnson and Malik Mustapha lead the Day 3 favorites in this 2024 7-round Saints mock draft.
