The Emily Price Interview

Autistic speech and language therapist Emily Price (She/Her) discusses her profession as a speech and language therapist, the communicative differences of neurodivergent people and what use does speech and language therapy have for neurodivergent people. She also discussed her autism diagnoses that came after she qualified as a speech and language experience and talks of her own diagnoses. In this interview she touches on her experience of an adoptee, which has given her trauma of being gaslit, manipulated and exploited in what she describes as abuse with her adopted family and shares her not so easy challenge of seeking to live a free and independent life in an abled world with such conditions been taken advantage of by others and how it can be hard to self-advocate. Telling of the challenges a person with oral-motor apraxia may have with communicating she shares how it can prove challenges in school and the work place when its all so difficult to advocate for yourself and get the necessary working conditions that she needs with useful advice to give to teachers and employers about the needs of neurodivergent people.
