That woman is my friend Peggy Engeler. She is the church secretary, retired secretary for a law firm, owns a fox red lab. And to add to that she is a woman of a certain age. We all know that age. The one when we think we are too old to do.... whatever it is we want to do. News flash we are never to old. How her friends try to help her find the killer and catch the monster behind these unspeakable murders.I have been a Drag Queen for over 40 years and this is the first time I have been asked to collaborate on a book. Drag Queens are my speciality and I have worked in Cabaret shows since 1968 as well as extensively in Musical Theater, Television, Radio and Films. I write for AMR Publishing , aka Andrea Mile Rhoads. She puts out several Anthologies a year and I along with several other writers put together some of the best reading you will ever read. We have down thrillers, crime, romance, well not me, Christmas, you name it she puts it on. Usually she has a release party on Facebook and invites all to attend. Since I have revived the show, I thought it only befitting that we all come together and blow this little horror anthology out of the water here on Off The Chain. This Show was set up a couple of weeks ago. Last night we lost our fearless leader Andrea Miles Rhoads. So in honor of her ..... the tribe will have this show for her. Yes, some of our authors will be live on the show and yes we will talk about The Locked Door. However, we also want to talk about Andrea and how she has impacted our lives. How we met her, how we have been on this journey with her and what she means to us a freind, publisher and go to person. A huge hole has been torn in the tapstry of our industry. This episode centers on the Angels that dwell among us. Those special people that God has given us to protect, love and learn from. Many of you know them as "challenged". I prefer unique. We are all "challenged" in some form or another. None of us are perfect. Granted God had a perfect plan however, we as human managed to screw that one up big time. I have the honor of having one of those Angels in my life. His name is Stan and he survived and thrived in a time when that was not possible or probable. While we has a society have come a long way in the acceptance of those who are "challenged" we still have a long way to go. You see, some of those Angels are not born "challenged" some become that way after an illness, stroke or Traumatic Brain Injury or some other neurological damage. Because we as a rule do not know how to communicate or refuse to have the patience to allow them to communicate, we pass them off as unimportant. Shame on us. They are a gift to be cherished, loved and protected. Join me as I talk about how we as a society must change the way we treat our Angels. You will be surprised at the things you learn from the beautiful people if you only give them a chance. My brother taught me more than I can ever teach him. They live amongst us. They work with us, they live in our communites and no matter what they always blame others for their bad decisions. They are always the victim. No matter if they start the confrontation. Nothing is ever their fault. I have run into this many times in my professional and private life. I was even married to one. Over the years I have learned how to deal with that type of personality. I hope this show will help those of you who deal with this type of personality on a daily to understand there is no reasoning with them. They have no sense of ownership. Winifred “Winnie” or “Freddie” Bush was born in North Dakota and is now a 6 ¾ year old who lives in Michigan. She has been writing stories for two years. Her first work in progress, a comic book, was a story that she lost and forgot what it was about. Her second work in progress, a short story, is about a girl named Glacier where the parents question if she is really their daughter because she is “different” from them. Winifred currently spends her days watching YouTube, drawing, writing, and eating ice when the snow comes outside. Winifred was a special cohost on a past episode, but now is our youngest special guest! Miss Freddye began singing in church at a young age. The influences of church and her mother's love of blues music gave Miss Freddye the foundation to venture in the world of blues music in 1996. She joined BMW(Blues Music Works) under the direction Of "Big" Al Leavitt. In 2002, Miss Freddye went on to form Blue Faze and several years later, Miss Freddye started two bands, Miss Freddye's Blues Band (electric blues) and Miss Freddye's Homecookin Band, (acoustic blues, classic rock, gospel.)Miss Freddye’s influences include Koko Taylor, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, and "Big" Al Leavitt. She has won past blues competitions; 2008 West Virginia Blues Society for Best Blues and 2012 Blues Society Of Western PA Best Duo/Solo Act. Additionally, Miss Freddye was awarded the 2014 Star Award from the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center for her work with veterans. She was awarded the 2015 Freedom From Silence Award from the Center For Victims. Sge has won in the Iron City Rocks Awards for Best Blues Band in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Her self-released CD, "Lady Of The Blues" won for Best Album in 2017. In 2018, Miss Freddye was nominated for two Blues Foundation Awards, one for Best Emerging Artist CD and The Koko Taylor Traditional Blues Female. The eldest of five children, our guest was born May 17, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in East Point, Georgia, they moved to Jackson County, Ga. until 2006 then moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where they currently make their home. They are a licensed bounty hunter for the state of Georgia. Our guest has an Associates degree from Lanier Technical College in Criminal Justice and has been nominated for the prestigious GOAL award in 2005 which encompasses all of the technical colleges. This award is based not only on excellence in academics but also leadership, positive attitude and the willingness to excel in one's major. Mary Brotherton is the founding president of bUneke.org, an award-winning script writer, photographer, and editor. As the editor-in-chief of bUneke Magazine and the director of bUneke Radio, she is privileged to interview remarkable people and work with volunteers and experts from around the world. When she’s not managing the administrative side of the nonprofit, fundraising, or mentoring others, she’s painting, illustrating children’s books, working on one of three novels, anthologies and scripts or editing for other writers. Tyler fought nail and tooth for 5 years to join the military. Finally after 5 years he was told yes. He had his ship out date and could not have been more excited. He shipped out, and within 2 weeks, he dislocated his knee at BCT. He was still training and trying to still make it in the military. 4 days before his company graduated AIT, they informed him of his medical discharged. 5 years in the making down the drain. When he got home he started a gaming crew of friends called "The Military Rejects." Hence the day the name was born. Richard Nelson is 27 years old and was born in Dayton, Ohio. His father was a classical guitar teacher and taught Nelson to play acoustic guitar at a young age. Later, Nelson taught himself electric guitar and bass and performed for talent shows and small rock gigs in high school with his teenage garage band Big Pink. Nelson also studied trombone through high school and became an esteemed jazz trombonist in the state of Tennessee, winning top chairs in multiple All-State bands. Nelson attended Auburn University where he continued to pursue music both academically and as a hobby, performing with The Auburn Knights Orchestra and The Andrew Thielen Big Band. Nelson’s first gig in Clovis was a solo acoustic show at Bandolero Brewery, where he showcased how he branches away from the typical country-western setlists and performed songs of every genre, to include metal and pop. Parker Baum is 29 years old and was born in Pasadena, Texas. During Baum’s childhood, his father instilled in him a passion for rock n roll, listening to bands like Boston, ELO, Motley Crue and Def Leppard, and paved the way for Baum's music interest. Enamored by drummers like Tommy Lee, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, and Rick Allen, Baum found himself behind his first drum kit as a freshman in high school and knew he had found his calling. He spent the following years aiding students with recording projects. In Lubbock, Texas, he drummed for a metal act before moving to Alpine. It was here that he met another musician, Anthony Ray Wright who recruited Baum to assist with his country act. In December of 2016 Baum was featured on SA LIVE in San Antonio for a Christmas special. Electing to pursue other passions in his life, Baum took a brief musical hiatus broken in 2021 by forming the band The Owl’s Offering with vocalist Kyle Liddell. Baum records powerful backup vocals in addition to producing brutal technical drum parts.

Rock music and biomedical science are strange bedfellows, but it is the bed that PeacockSunrise recording artist, John Blangero, has made for himself. One listen to his soulful album, “Delta Tales” by alter-ego Sun King Rising will make the oddness of that pairing seem almost normal. Neither his music nor his work as a renowned genetic scientist are strange at all, it turns out. Call it “The Genetics of Soul.” Blangero quickly displayed prodigious musical gifts when he started taking piano lessons at age five in his hometown of New Castle, Pennsylvania. Five years later, he had absorbed not only the fundamentals of classical music, but also gospel and rock music. He joined his first rock band at 14 and was soon composing and singing his own music. Apprenticeships in a series of area bands culminated in the formation of his own original band, called Harlequin, with which he attained regional popularity throughout the fertile Pennsylvania/Ohio/West Virginia market At the height of the band’s popularity, though, he put music on the back burner to obtain his Ph.D. and become an active biomedical research scientist. During his twenty-year musical hiatus, he ascended to rock star stature in the international scientific community. But the music lying dormant within Blangero’s spirit would not remain silent. Playing casually with blues bands in San Antonio toward the end of the 21st century rekindled Blangero’s creative spark and prompted him to begin writing new songs. Her first Nashville album of all original music was released in February 1995, and she got back in the studio recording her second album/EP project that was released in October 2018. Ashley Puckett was born and raised in North Huntingdon, just east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ashley realized her passion for music at a young age, performing at vocal competitions and community events, and eventually, landing at open-mic nights and shows in bars and clubs, doing anything to keep the music and her passion alive.
