The New York Yankees don’t have a great track record regarding how they treat some of their prospects. Last season, Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza were battling for the starting shortstop position, and Volpe won it out of Spring Training, with Peraza starting the year in Triple-A. But now, in 2024, it seems Peraza might not even have a chance to make the roster as a backup infielder, according to quotes by manager Aaron Boone in an article in The Athletic (linked below).
