

After the intercession of Moses, the Israelites are welcomed back into the presence of God. But now, they need to reestablish the covenant with Him. Today on Rooted Daily we’re looking at how the Lord gave Israel the law… again.


After the sin of Israel at the base of Mt. Sinai, God said that His presence couldn’t be with them anymore and the people wept! Today on Rooted Daily we’re looking at how their repentance and the intercession of Moses brought God back to His people.


In Exodus, God gave His people instructions on how to establish a holy priesthood too, a priesthood which would be an image, a shadow, of an even greater one to come. Today on Rooted Daily we look at the priesthood of the Old Testament and how it pointed forward to the priests of today.


Exodus 25:8 God commands Moses, “LToday on Rooted Daily we’re talking about God’s instructions for the tabernacle and what it meant for His people then and now.


When Moses came down from the mountain and read the law, the whole nation of Israel with one voice said: “All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.” They weren’t always the most faithful to their word, but today on Rooted Daily we’re talking about the extraordinary thing that happened when Israel signed the contract with God.


The Law of Moses is like a mobile hanging down from Heaven. Jesus says all the Law and the Prophets hang off of two commands: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. All of the individual commands that make up the Law of Moses are attached by these two great commandments. Today on Rooted Daily we are looking through the Law of Moses through that lens: how do the commands teach us to love our neighbor?


When the scribes wanted to entrap Jesus, they asked: “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Without hesitation, Jesus answered: “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment… on that, all of the Law and the Prophets hang." Today on our podcast Rooted Daily we are looking at how the Law of Moses connects to that first and great commandment.


The 10 Commandments were given to set Israel apart as a holy nation through which the Messiah would be born. So today on Rooted Daily we’re asking, now that Jesus has come, what is their value today?


Hear this: ANY society, no matter its technology, its wealth, its political system, any society will fail if it is amoral. Today on Rooted Daily we are talking about the five moral commands of the 10 Commandments and how they form the bedrock of any civil society even today.


Honor your father and mother. The Fifth Commandment seems simple enough but what were the Israelites supposed to do when their parents weren’t worthy of honor? Today on Rooted Daily we're talking about what it means to keep the Fifth Commandment, even when it’s hard.


“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” That is the fourth commandment. God set apart the seventh day of the week as a day devoted to rest and a sign of the covenant given on Mt. Sinai. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image"— Thus said the Lord to Moses atop Mt. Sinai, even as the Israelites down at the base were already getting their tools ready to carve a calf out of gold. Jesus said of all the Law the first and greatest commandment was this: To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. Today on Rooted Daily, we are diving into that Great Command, the first of the 10 Commandments.

As if on eagle’s wings, God carried His people out of slavery and into freedom. Today on Rooted Daily, we talk about how God prepared His people to enter that freedom and receive the Law.
