John Candy shows off his talents in the Hughes Classic Uncle Buck. And it takes on one off the best holiday movies of all-time, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!
Like, where do even begin to compare these two? Both films are enshrined in their own respective Cooperstown. With both films featuring legends of the screen and stage (past, present, and future). We open the season with not only a fantastic matchup, but a fantastic guest as well! Our good friend Vicente (and possibly future councilperson of Pueblo) lends us his ears and prowess in the first episode of 1989! It has been one hell of a season. Through hours of conscientious debate we've come to a compromised agreement on these six films: Snatch Castaway O Brother Where Art Thou American Psycho Unbreakable How The Grinch Stole Christmas A more than fair representation of the year, and will be judged with all new scrutiny to find the undeniable champion of the Year 2000!
We're almost there. Only two episodes left in this never ending season of the year 2000. It's been a great journey with some twists and turns, but we're now going to narrow it down to the top 6.
While we were shocked to see some of these lose to begin with, they now have the opportunity to defend themselves in a Royal Rumble type of format. It's been too long.. No more Zoom, or Skype, as The Watch Men Podcast becomes fully vaccinated. Just three friends in a room talking smoke about their favorite movies. With Gladiator, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon being two of our favorites. It may possibly be the most evenly matched pairing that we've put together. Our NCAA style matchup is a true No.1 vs No.15 American Psycho (a favorite to win it all), is taking on the much lesser know, but equally as entertaining Shadow of the Vampire. The former combines all the aspects of what makes a masterpiece, with the latter showing us how to do it on pure talent and grit. We also happen to bring back one of our absolute favorites, Gary Kollman! The man is prepared as always, and doesn't fail to deliver! Links in Comments!
On it's face, our Wild Card round seems like a relatively odd match up. Meet the Parents, one of the great comedies of the year, versus one of the dramatic performances for the ages, Erin Brockovich. Julia Roberts would deliver a defining role of the decade, and was rewarded with and Oscar. Ben Stiller would start to cement his legacy in film with Meet the Parents, and was given a sequel. Oh, and to warn everyone, we weren't able to record for about a month due to injury, so we're just a bunch of gabby chickens going off on a million tangents! Links in Comments!

Happy Holidays to all! We wanted to get together and try to put out a "mini" episode, which only turned out to be an hour long lol We did however try to put together our Top 5 Christmas Specials/Movies of all time. Which was incredibly difficult considering the amount of nostalgia that's packed into every decade. But, amazingly, we did find common ground, and had a very clear and respectable Top 3. Normally wouldn't have taken as long to get out the whole season, but *WAVES ARMS* So here for you now is The Watch Men Podcasts' Season 3 Championship. If you were thinking that there were some injustices done throughout our elimination process (like Weird Science only getting a total score of 5, thanks Eric), then here's the chance that we hopefully right some wrongs that brought against some of our favorite films. We take the 10 losers, and match them against each other Mosh Pit style, with the Top 2 advancing to the Semi Finals!
This was supposed to be the episode that started off Season three back in April. But the original recording was so poorly done, that it became our first lost episode. But we came back strong, finishing out the brackets with the Tyson vs Ali tpe of matchup. Two of the perennial favorites of 1985 will face off, with one outcast to the loser bracket. The much anticipated return of Kristin Skye Hoffman has finally arrived! She comes in hot to set shit straight in this weeks matchup! We have Biggie's #1 The Color Purple, paired against his Wild Card selection, Mask: The Rocky Dennis Story There's also a caveat to this week's episode! We wondered how The Color Purple could be nominated for 12 Oscars, and not win one. We decided to watch the film that did win, Out of Africa, to see if it holds up! Additional links in comments!
