On March 4th, hail surprised people all over Taiwan. The little balls of ice made loud noises on roofs. People saw the hailstones bounce off the roads. The hail even caused some traffic problems!
"It was like popcorn popping on the ground!" said a driver.
In Taipei, people were shocked by a thunderstorm mixed with hail late at night. "I thought someone was throwing marbles on my roof!"
In Taichung, the hailstones were as big as chicken eggs!
“Ouch! The sky is throwing ice!”
On Hehuan Mountain, the hailstones were as small as green peas. They covered the ground like a shiny carpet!
