The Only 2 Responses To Jesus

Were blessed to hear from our Teaching & Creative Pastor, Brant Cole, this morning as he brings us a message from Luke 23:32-43 about an encounter between Jesus and a condemned criminal. In todays message, we find a notorious criminal whose late conversion to Christianity challenges our understanding of Gods limitless mercy. This points us to this truth: true life is found in fearing and honoring Jesus. Were observing Lukes account of Jesus crucifixion, taking special interest in the significance of His interactions with the criminals beside him. One criminal mocked Jesus, while the other, recognizing Jesus’ innocence and divinity, sought his mercy. This pivotal moment highlights the point that acknowledging Jesus as Lord - fearing him - is the pathway to eternal life. Our response to Jesus - whether doubt or dependence - determines our eternal destiny. "Life is found when Jesus is feared." - Pastor Brant Cole

The Grieving Sisters

Were blessed to hear from our Lead Pastor, Jeff Ellis, this morning as he brings us a message from John 11:1-37 about an interaction between Jesus, Lazarus, and his sisters. In todays message, were looking into the the complex question of why a loving and powerful God allows suffering and evil to afflict those He claims to love. Through the story of Jesus deliberate delay in visiting the dying Lazarus, despite His deep love for Lazarus and his sisters, this message highlights that Gods timing and plans are rooted in a love that aims for a greater purpose beyond our immediate comfort or understanding. In this passage, we see that Jesus love for us is not about shielding us from all harm but about refining and maturing our faith, even if it means allowing us to face trials. "We should never base our assurance of Christs love on our circumstances." - Pastor Jeff Ellis

The Religious Leader

Were blessed to hear from our Lead Pastor, Jeff Ellis, this morning as he brings us a message from John 3:1-17 about an interaction between Nicodemus and Jesus. In todays message, were given an interesting phrase - "born again" - a term often met with confusion or misunderstanding. To be born again isnt about following religious laws or traditions, which leads to a superficial faith. Instead, its a profound, spiritual rebirth through faith in Jesus Christ, which brings genuine change and a new identity as children of God. "When we are born again, we are given a new identity that overrides every other identity in our lives." - Pastor Jeff Ellis

Because it wasnt beneath Jesus, it is the standard for all of us, too. "I love like Jesus when I serve like Jesus." - Pastor Brant Cole

An Encounter with Legion

A close encounter with Jesus is a profound experience, capable of turning your whole world upside down. Jesus does not adopt a one-size-fits-all method but treats everyone as an individual. In Mark 5 we find an encounter that reveals Jesuss willingness to go through a fierce storm to reach one lost soul! This demon-possessed mans transformation from a tormented, isolated individual to a man of peace showcases Jesuss power to heal and restore, regardless of the depth of ones despair. This encounter not only points to the personal attention Jesus gives but also His authority over evil. This message challenges us to consider our own willingness to let Jesus in and change us. The response to Jesuss work in our lives-whether we accept Him and share our stories of transformation or push Him away due to fear of change-reveals our true priorities. This message invites us to consider Jesuss relentless pursuit of us, His desire to meet us in our darkest places, and the profound impact of embracing His presence in our lives. "Jesus still wants a close encounter with you in 2024." - Pastor Jeff Ellis

A Completely New Outlook On Life [GUEST SPEAKER]

Today, Detroit Tigers chaplain Jeff Totten provides wisdom on where to look in life for the right guidance and wisdom. In sports, as well as in life, bad calls and poor decisions are all too common. These kinds of events mirror our lives where misguided decisions often arise not from malice, but from misdirected focus. The question that emerges is: are we looking in the right direction for guidance and wisdom? The Apostle Paul, in Colossians chapter 3, offers a profound solution to this dilemma through what can be termed as A "Completely New Outlook On Life".

"Loving the Gospel for yourself leads to godliness in yourself." - Pastor Brant Cole

Becoming an Emotionally Mature Adult

Were blessed to hear from our senior pastor, Jeff Ellis, this morning as he brings us a message about about the connection between emotional health and spiritual maturity in the Christian life. Many Christians, no matter how old, often act like emotional infants. And this prevents them from giving the love theyve received from Jesus to love for other people. In contrast, emotional maturity is rooted in the perfect love of Jesus, a love that actively flows through us to others. "Followers of Jesus should be the best lovers of people on the face of the earth." - Pastor Jeff Ellis
