The virgin Mary had an utterly unique calling, to carry and birth the Son of God. She would have been seen as a liar or a lunatic to claim this was God’s child. Even so, she conceived herself as blessed and called her son the Savior. But this not true only of her. We too are blessed as we see her son as our Savior.
