Alan Baker, a former ambassador to Canada and legal adviser to the Foreign Ministry, said that the transformation of Canada from a staunch supporter of Israel to a country that imposes an arms sale embargo on the Jewish state at a time of war, was due to the increasing pressure from the influx of migrants and others who oppose Israel. Today, the director of international law at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Baker told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that Canada’s arms sales to Israel were marginal.
