More than 70 orphans have left Gaza for Bethlehem in the framework of an operation carried out by the IDF and the Office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, as instructed by the National Security Council, at the request of the German embassy.

To move them, a large number of IDF troops were enlisted to safeguard the route used by the buses to safely reach the Palestinian Authority’s territory.

Right-wing politicians criticized the humanitarian gesture and right wing activists on Monday night succeeded in blocking the entry of the 2 buses of orphans from Gaza  to Bethlehem in the West Bank.

Nadia Matar from the right-wing Sovereignty Movement  explained to KAN's Mark Weiss why activists tried to thwart the move.
