It seems incredible, but it often happens that in our efforts to be better at serving, obeying, studying, praying, etc, we forget, for all intents and purposes, that the defining characteristic of the Christian life is LOVE. We say we know it, but it is easy to lose sight of the fact that all those other pursuits are futile without the overarching motive of love. Love for God, for our neighbor, for the lost, and for the brethren.
