In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about actual football after watching the very first spring practice of USC football 2024. The Trojans were out on Howard Jones Field on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles with a lot of new faces on the roster and also in the coaching staff.
We heard from head coach Lincoln Riley after practice, talking about the major move of former left tackle Jonah Monheim going to center and how impressive freshman Elijah Paige looked when he stepped in at left tackle in the Holiday Bowl. He also discussed the decision to back away from coaching quarterbacks, moving former inside receivers coach Luke Huard over to handle the QBs.
The guys talk about some of the more impressive players they saw out on the practice field including freshman defensive lineman Kameryn Fountain, what their impressions were of the new defensive staff members and some of the former Trojan football players that were hanging around campus for Wednesday's Pro Day.
They also discuss some of the roster changes including new numbers, new weights and new positions for several Trojans.
