To begin the countdown to Everton's historic stadium move, the Royal Blue podcast has launched a new series entitled Goodison Park: My Home and we kick things off in style with an exclusive interview as Chris Beesley speaks to the club's most-successful captain Kevin Ratcliffe.
Lifelong Evertonian Ratcliffe recalls his early years as a fan, travelling from his home in North Wales with his father and other relatives to matches at Goodison Park before making the leap to becoming a first team player and then skipper himself in the glory days of the mid-1980s.
As Howard Kendall's captain, the former defender offers his thoughts on lifting two League Championships at Goodison Park plus an FA Cup and European Cup-Winners' Cup while his tales of turning out in what is widely-considered to be the ground's greatest night in the latter competition as Everton recorded a famous 3-1 comeback win over Bayern Munich are priceless.
