The Seattle Supercross could have been the most challenging and treacherous track of the year thus far, as rain in the days before the race softened the dirt surface and left the racers with rutted jump faces, rhythm section transitions, straights, and corners. The action, however, was amazing as home-state hero Levi Kitchen scored a popular win in the 250 Western Regional main and Cooper Webb earned a massively popular victory in the 450 main after a race-long battle with defending Supercross Champion Chase Sexton that saw multiple lead changes.

Sadly, Walsh was badly injured in the first qualifying session of the day at Anaheim One, rupturing his intestines and undergoing emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and repair his internal injuries. Walsh has made a remarkable recovery and will return to action at this weekend's Seattle Supercross, so we thought it was the perfect time to release Schahr's episode of the Factory Backing Midweek Podcast.
Presented by Pro Taper The 10th round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series rolled into Indianapolis, Indiana, last weekend and the traditionally tough and treacherous track hosted the second Triple Crown of the year. The racing was three times as exciting with three main events in each class, and there was a lot to talk about in this week's Kickstart Podcast...including some news about the ability to place bets on the remainder of the Monster Energy Supercross races and all of the Supermotocross Series this year!

Eastern Regional 250 Supercross Championship Series kicked off and we got to see a whole new batch of racers behind the starting gate. Highlights included the debut of the Triumph racing team, our first repeat winner of the season in the 450 class, Haiden Deegan's debut as the defending 250 SMX Champion, and of course....Cameron McAdoo's gritty ride after a horrific first-turn crash. Earlier this year JLaw was set to race the Kicker Arenacross Series with the Phoenix Honda team, but that deal unravelled before the series even started. Lawrence has since taken an interest in the AMA US Sprint Enduro Series and is set to compete at round two this weekend in Union, South Carolina, aboard a Kawasaki KX450 that he purchased recently. Sadly, he broke his femur in a crash a few days before Anaheim One, but we can assure you that this injury will not dampen his enthusiasm for the sport.

This one was different, though, as riders were still able to jump many of the obstacles, and this made racing super sketchy! Nine years ago, we created the Mini Major by Seven MX, a race that is tailored specifically to mini bike racers in our efforts to support the overall growth of the racing portion of our sport. And it was a hit! Each and every year, the Mini Major has attracted key talent and grown in overall participation. Past winners include Stylez Robertson, Ryder DiFrancisco, Jett Reynolds, Talon Hawkins, and more! For 2024, the event has been rebranded the Mini Monsters by Seven MX, and is an AMA Major Event, complete with National-Championship Number-One Plates! Race Director Aaron Cooke stopped by the SML offices this morning to discuss!

While attending an art school in San Diego, he drove to Troy Lee Designs in Corona, some two hours north, to meet Troy and ask if he could intern at TLD. And with that, as they say, the rest is history. Maki spent 32 years designing helmets, t-shirts, riding gear, race team graphics and transporters, and more, during his time with the legendary brand. Now venturing out on his own with Groove Machine Inc., and independent art agency, Ushiroyama stopped by to reminisce his three-decade history in the sport.

Jordon Post is one of one. We've gotten to know the tattooed journeyman over the last few years at rounds of Supercross and Pro Motocross, as his roles with the track crew put him on location early and in the heart of the action. After Post gets done hanging banners or helping assemble various structures around the track and paddock, he continues the hustle by picking up his camera and documenting the action in a way only he can. The last twenty minutes of this talk take a heavy turn, as Jordan discussed the loss of his stepbrother Wills Fedrick at the Nashville race this year and the way working in the industry has helped him come to terms with the things that happen in life.
