Do you... __ __ You're not alone. Many women only feel good about themselves when they're accomplishing shit. Especially you perfectionists out there. Today's episode breaks down "The 8 Types of Rest That Are Key to Weightloss." You'll hear: __ __ Listen now to get some relief from the cycle of doing. You'll learn that when you allow yourself to rest -- and take actual breaks -- you'll also lose more weight. This is the stuff we work on in No BS. Taking care of ourselves (even if we feel guilty). Y'all know I'm an open book. If you've been listening to the podcast recently, you may know I'm in perimenopause. It's the stage right before menopause. And it can start as early as your 30s! 🤯 Now, if you've never heard the term "perimenopause," you're not alone. Women have been kept in the dark about this important stage of life since... well, forever. We've been told to suffer through terrible sleep, weight gain, night sweats, and mood changes... you name it. The message to women has been, "good fucking luck." Well, you know me. I'm not going down without a fight. I'm fixin' to learn everything I can about perimenopause and menopause. Today I'm interviewing Dr. Diedra Manns. She's a Doctor of Physical Therapy and menopause health coach. She's also a badass. Dr. Manns survived breast cancer and is dedicated to helping midlife women flourish. In this episode, Dr. Manns shares easy tips to improve the quality of your life during this stage. Especially when it comes to rest. Losing weight is easy. Don't agree? Think of all the crazy diets out there. Someone is trying them and losing weight. Maybe even you. Hell, if they gave Olympic medals for losing weight, I would've been the Michael Phelps of weightloss. I lost it over and over with so many diets. Nothing lasted. Because all those diets were just a bunch of bullshit rules. I didn't change anything except what they told me I "should" eat. The minute I stopped following their rules, I'd gain the weight back. It wasn't until I changed my relationship with food -- and with myself -- that the weight stayed off for good. So, how do you know if your relationship with food is changing? In today's episode, I share five major signs you're improving your relationship with food. And I've experienced every one of them. A few signs might surprise you. Like that you no longer burn your mouth because you "just can't wait" to eat that Hot Pocket right out of the microwave. Or you stop obsessing about what your mother-in-law is thinking when you order food at a restaurant. As your relationship with food improves, you'll free up the time and energy you used to waste stressing about food. And you can spend it working on creating the life you want. Let me set a scene for you. It's 3pm and you're at work. You're tired and can't concentrate, so you reach for a snack. Maybe a soda, too. The snack and soda get you through to the end of the workday, but then you have to start your "second shift:" dinner, dishes, and whatever else comes before bedtime. As you finally crawl into bed, thoughts rush in. You remember the snack and soda were NOT on your plan and you didn't take a walk at lunch like you promised you would. You beat yourself up, thinking... "Why can't I get my shit together and lose weight?" Today on the podcast, Master Certified Life Coach Neill Williams will tell you exactly why: because you're not meant to go-go-go all day, every day. Do you ever say asshole things to yourself like: __ __ Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Women are hard on themselves, especially my Gen X ladies who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. If you're over 40, you've had alllll the unrealistic expectations put on you. And you beat yourself up every day for not living up to bullshit outdated rules. During our conversation, we get vulnerable and share our struggles with being hard on ourselves. Katie goes deep on what it means to give yourself grace in your every day, messy-ass life. We're not talking about becoming a perfect, graceful human being, putting a band-aid over a bad day, or "letting yourself off the hook." Quite the opposite. Giving yourself grace may be the most important thing you do to lose weight faster and easier. And share this episode with the women in your life. I want to help release the pressure on women to be everything to everyone at all times. This perspective on grace has the potential to change their lives. Is it hard for you to stop at enough with food that tastes good? My hand is raised -- I bet yours is too -- because it's to want to keep eating food you love, even when you know you've had enough. But what if I told you that's not why you're struggling with weightloss? The urge to overeat is not the problem. The problem is what you make it mean about you. That there's something wrong with you. That you're "bad." That food controls you. Bullshit. What if there's nothing wrong with you? What if there's a damn good explanation for why you want to overeat? There is, and I'm sharing it on today's podcast: Listen in for a fresh perspective on overeating -- one you probably haven't heard -- and real-life techniques to curb it without overhauling your pantry or restricting foods you love. (We don't do that in No BS.) If you want to learn how No BS women lose weight while enjoying their favorite foods, join the membership today at JoinNoBS.com.
I get this question a lot: Most women think accountability is being hard on yourself. We tell ourselves to be good, don't be a fuck up, or stop being lazy. Then wonder... Why do we know what to do to lose weight, and we don't do it. Newsflash: We talk to ourselves like an asshole to get ourselves to behave. And this will keep you from losing weight. In today's podcast episode -- -- I'll share three steps for weightloss accountability : __ __ When you learn this, you'll start losing weight and never look back. So listen today!
We're a month into the New Year. If you made a goal to lose weight... how's it going? If you've quit and are beating yourself up because you “never stick to your goals,” please stop. I know the two reasons why. In last week’s episode, I gave you the first reason. Go back and check it out if you missed it. This week, I’m sharing the second major reason you can’t stick to your goals. And it has nothing to do with what to eat or how to exercise. When you start a goal, you're all fired up with excitement and motivation. It feels easy. Then life happens. The fire goes out and you’re left with your regular old feelings. Most diets don’t address this truth, but I will: Your goals fail because you expect to feel good about them all the time. Spoiler: you won’t. That's not how the brain works. Successful weightloss comes in the moments you feel like shit and don't eat over it. That's what we work on in No BS – what to do when you’re tired, cranky, and forgot why you wanted to lose weight in the first place. So, if you feel like giving up, listen to today’s episode -- Part 2: Why You Can’t Stick to Your New Year's Resolutions. You'll come away with: __ __ I hope you keep going. You lose your weight for the last damn time. But how you do it will look different than what the diet industry has sold you. Get the Free Course here: https://NoBSFreeCourse.com
It's 2024. Did you make a resolution this year? If so, how's it going? If I were in Vegas, I'd put my money on "not well." 😜 And that's NORMAL. The second Friday of January ain't called "Quitter's Day" for nothing. Today on the podcast, I'm sharing the first of two main reasons it's hard. Now, don't get me wrong. I love goals. I just don't love bullshit like... My friend Kara Loewentheil of the "UnF*ck Your Brain" podcast has a name for these kinds of goals: . I talk more about it in today's podcast. If you're struggling to lose weight, I'll bet your goal is missing one ESSENTIAL ingredient: YOUR REAL LIFE. You don't need a perfect goal to lose weight. Because this is real life -- you know it's gonna happen. Listen in on today's episode, Part 1: Why You Can't Stick to Your New Year's Resolutions, for how to create a more realistic plan and avoid the #1 thing no one plans for. And join me next week for Part 2. I'll give you three good questions to ask yourself when your motivation runs out. Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com

Trust me, it's not just about willpower; there's more to the story. Did you know that one of the reasons we eat past enough is that we are using food to reward ourselves? Y'all have been begging for this one. Today on the podcast, we're getting real about menopause and perimenopause. I wish there had been an episode like this ago to help me understand what in the hell is going on with my body. My energy levels have been in the toilet and I've just not felt like "me." We have an acronym we use all the time inside of No BS: PLMF. In other words... Pivot. Like a. Mother. Fucker. Which is exactly what I did after I pooped my pants during a walk the other day. (I wish I were kidding.) Listen to today's podcast to get the whole messy story. Did it suck? Of course! Did it change my schedule? Yep. Did I sit around in my doo-doo like a toddler and whine that my day was ruined? Hell no! Now, if I had listened to what my brain offered up after my "accident," I wouldn't have done shit for the rest of the day (no pun intended) except feel sorry for myself and eat chips on the couch. Instead, I PLMF'd and even managed to fit a workout in. Don't believe your brain when it tells you everything has to go right or the whole day is ruined. It's a lie that will keep you stuck forever. In No BS, we teach you how to hear your excuses and lose weight anyway. In fact, there's a simple question we ask all the time to help us move from being stuck to taking action. I share it in Episode 350: When the Shit Hits the Fan. Listen now to hear my shitty story. 😆 Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com
Ever grab a snack and mow it down before you realize you weren't even hungry? Every damn hand should be raised. In today's episode, you'll hear me help a No BS member with her fear of snacking during a recent weightloss weekly call. And y'all, I don't just give her some formula for "how not to snack"... because there isn't one. We snack when we're not hungry for different reasons -- hell, I did it just the other day! Listen to the episode for the aha moment I had when I sat down and started eating a snack when I wasn't hungry. My aha was WHY I did it. That's the difference between No BS and other diets. We help you understand WHY you do things like snack when you're not hungry, so you don't have to struggle with it again. If you're tired of other diets with their bullshit promises that always end up failing you, head to JoinNoBS.com. Are you curious how we tackle "stopping at enough" inside the No BS Membership https://www.nobsweightloss.com/join/? The answer is "hell yes!" based on what you said you wanted to hear more about when I asked on Instagram. (Follow me HERE for more real-life weightloss tips and tricks). So today, I'm sharing a sneak peek into two recent weightloss calls with No BS members who are struggling with stopping at enough. And that's normal. We don't call stopping at enough "the Bigfoot of No BS" for nothing. Finding your "enough" can be frustrating, especially when you're used to overeating. And stopping when you've found it can bring up all kinds of emotions. Because blowing past your enough cues has nothing to do with your body. Your body often knows it's had enough... but you don't listen because your mind isn't ready to be done eating. And this is the type of work we do in No BS: uncovering why it's hard for you to stop at enough and discovering easy, effective methods for how to do it anyway. One day, it'll get easier. But today, if it's not, we can help. Listen to Episode 348: How to Stop at Enough for a sneak peek into how I help women just like you who struggle with overeating. I help them find solutions so they can continue to lose weight for the last damn time. Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com
Hard-core diets love to tell you: "Food is just fuel." I call bullshit. Deep in our bones, we know food is more than fuel. It's love. It's cultural expression. It's identity. And it's damn delicious! With No BS, you can nurture a strong connection to generations past compromising your weightloss goals. In today's episode, No BS Coaches MJ and Dina talk about losing weight while savoring the foods that are an essential part of your heritage, culture, and traditions. Coach Dina shares how, for years, the diet industry convinced her the only way to lose weight was by denying herself the Mexican and Hawaiian dishes that felt like home. Some diets didn't even acknowledge her culture's foods! Then she found No BS. She was skeptical she could shed pounds and still enjoy her mom's chile rellenos, but she tried the No BS way and lost 40 pounds. Listen to Episode 347: Culture, Food Traditions, and Weightloss for a new perspective on celebrating your cultural roots -- even Coach MJ's sweet tea and fried chicken -- without overeating. During this holiday season, I want you to relish the foods that feel like home while making progress on your weightloss. Learn how to do just that on today's episode. If you're a regular podcast listener, you know my bestie Jane. I talk to her every day even though we live 1000s of miles apart. Jane is not only my best friend but a Master Certified Life Coach and an expert on binge eating, emotional eating, and food addiction. Because she's been there. I recently sat down with Jane for her podcast . In today's episode, you'll hear our raw conversation about her bingeing journey. From barely sharing her secret eating to opening up with me and now helping women become binge-free, Jane's story is nothing short of an inspiration. But it didn't happen overnight. It wasn't an easy fix. And she had to overcome two paralyzing fears: shame and judgment. Believe it or not, none of us really want to lose weight. We want to lose the shame and judgment we have about our weight, our bodies, or our eating. Today, we talk about how to do that SO THAT you can lose weight a helluva lot easier. If you're addressing binge eating or just want to lose weight and eat like a normal person, this is the podcast for you. Listen to Episode 346: Break Free of Overeating Shame and Judgment to learn how Jane moved out of shame and judgment and into her best life. And the part I played along the way. I've got a treat for you this week - you're getting a peek under the hood at what it's like to be a member of No BS. On today's podcast, you'll listen in on one of the most popular weekly offerings within the membership: my Sunday coaching call. On Sundays, I coach women just like you on the problems they're running into with their weightloss. And it's shit like: Listen in for exactly how I coach these women on their struggles. This is the real work of weightloss. The 4 Basics are how you lose weight; coaching makes sure that you can DO THEM. That's why I created the No BS program. I was tired of the diet industry telling women they have to follow a bunch of complicated rules that are impossible in the real world. In No BS, I'll teach you how weightloss fits into your real life -- no perfection required. You'll get a small taste of how I do that in today's episode. Does any of this sound familiar? Your day sucked. You come home to a messy house. Make dinner. Let the dog out/get the kids in bed/clean up the kitchen/fill-in-the-blank. You finally sit down to watch a show or scroll the Instagram to unwind. Maybe you even try to sleep. Then you break. You say, "Fuck it," and make love to ice cream and Cheetos in bed, even though you weren't hungry. And you eat waaaayyyy too much. You wake up with all the guilt. You did it again. You call yourself all kinds of names. You swear you'll NEVER do that again... Until you do it the next night. Y'all, I've BEEN there. Hell, sometimes I still want to be there. But here's what I know: Today on the podcast, I tell you how. I introduce you to the phases of urges and how to recognize them when they strike. You'll even hear a real-life example of how one of my members is struggling with an after-work urge and how I coached her through it. In the No BS membership, we talk about urges and overeating a LOT. And I can promise you this -- it ain't ever about the food. If you've ever felt guilty for giving into a craving -- or for even having one in the first place -- this episode will help you unwind your urges in a compassionate way that helps you lose your weight for good. Have you ever lost some weight, and someone said to you: "You've lost weight. You're looking good!" How did you react? With a smile and a "golly gee, thanks," or did you want to run and hide (and maybe grab some snacks along the way...)? If you're like I was, your shitty brain immediately reminded you it was only a matter of time before you gained all your weight back and then some. Why can it be so damn hard to take a compliment? In today's podcast, I explain why compliments can trigger real fear in us and why losing the mental weight is the only way to lose your weight for good. The last thing I want is for any of you to self-sabotage because compliments freak you out. Instead, listen to the episode to understand why you feel the way you do and what you can start doing about it. And let me just say this. You're amazing and you deserve to feel that way. I hope you can hear that compliment and really take it in. (If not, you know you need this podcast!) Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com

Ever wonder what it'd be like to get coached by me? Today's your lucky day. Invited to a party? Make a protocol. Headed to the in-laws for the holidays? Make a damn protocol. Today on the podcast, you'll hear me coach on how to make different protocols for different situations. What you WON'T hear is how to do it perfectly. Weightloss isn't black and white. “If you don't quit feeding her, she will never find a man!” My mother once screamed that at my granny after I ate a second helping of mashed potatoes. I was 10. I’m 49 now, but I still remember that moment clear as day. When you were a kid, did someone say or do something that sent the message your body is “bad” or “needs fixing?” Or maybe you worry you’re sending that message to your kid(s), even if you don't say it out loud. Listen to today's episode. I go deep on body shame with Master Certified Coach Lisa Smith on her podcast. We talk about where body shame comes from, how we've dealt with it in our own lives (and with our own kids), and real-life steps to overcome it. (Hint: it ain't about slapping a happy-ass thought over all of it.) None of us comes out of the womb embarrassed by our chubby stomachs or wishing we had thinner thighs. We learn that shit. Usually from people who love us. And they don’t necessarily do it on purpose. They're likely trying to protect us in a society that bombards us with the message that being thin is the only thing that makes a woman “worthy.” It’s my deepest desire that every woman examines her body shame and does the work to overcome it so we can stop passing this bullshit on. But this isn't only good for the next generation. It's also for YOU. Whatever your body goals are -- to lose weight, to get off medications, to increase your strength -- freeing yourself from body shame will get you there faster and help you feel as amazing as you deserve every step of the way. I'm doing something fun on the podcast today -- looking into my crystal ball to predict the future of weightloss. Just kidding. I don’t need a damn ball. My predictions for the future are solid as fuck, based off of 1,000s of hours coaching women and studying the latest trends in weightloss, nutrition, and fitness. I talk about four things that weightloss methods must address to be effective in the future: Self-care. And I don’t mean a spa day. Listen in for what real self-care is and what it means for weightloss. I also share my favorite new self-care routine. Carbs. Can you guess my prediction: Do you know how many daily grams of carbs a woman actually needs? I'll shock the hell out of you with the answer. Devices. As I always say in the No BS membership, data is our friend. I talk about how devices like my Oura ring provide personal data that help optimize our sleep, nutrition, movement, etc. Weightloss Drugs. Drugs like Ozempic can be beneficial for weightloss. Listen and find out what people who take these medications CANNOT ignore for successful weightloss. Check out today's podcast for how and why these four things are essential to helping women like you lose their weight and keep it off long-term. Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com
