While filming Tiny Bunny, I realized just how much I usually mask discomfort when I record. Without the cam, youâd never know how often I shift in my chair or move the mic â because normally I just pause, adjust, pause again, even between sentences. Seeing it back on camera felt⌠exposing. Vulnerable. Part of me worried it might look unprofessional, or that the constant shifting would be distracting.But people like us â people who live with chronic pain â we mask all the time. We move through the world quietly adjusting, quietly coping, quietly carrying things others never see. And I know so many of you do the same. I see you. I do â¤ď¸What surprised me in the playback wasnât the discomfort â it was how much fun I was having. Laughing, joking, theorizing about the story. So what you see here isnât a flaw or a failure. Itâs just me being human. A human doing something I love while also living with something I deal with every day â¤ď¸
I realized when filming this how much I normally mask pain when recording because, without the cam, you'd never know I was shifting in my chair constantly or moving the mic - because I'd hit pause, adjust, pause, adjust, even between sentences. I thought for quite a while about even posting this video because I feel exposed. Vulnerable. Like you might watch this and be turned off because it's not professional and it's ever-present. I advocate for people who deal with chronic issues because I do too - but I also saw in the playback of this that I was having a great time. Laughing, joking, theorizing. And so the discomfort you see here, this bit I've exposed about myself, is just me being human.
