Rama is a widely worshiped Vishnu Avatar. The celebrated 'Sri Rama Mantra, 'Sri Rama Rama Rameti Rame Raame Manorame, Sahasranama Tattulyam Rama Nama Varanane' extols the greatness of Rama Nama, Lord Rama's holy name. In this much revered Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra, Lord Shiva asserts to Goddess Parvati that the name 'Rama' is equivalent to and as Sacred as the thousand names of Vishnu, and meditating on that Rama Nama can get the mind absorbed in the Divine consciousness of Rama.
