I'm aware that there are little scraps of fear and things that I want to hang on to in the illusion. And when I when Jesus talks about being honest with myself and with him. It can be easy for the ego to tempt you into feeling guilty. What I've learned in my interactions with Jesus is to you don't the guilt is not necessary. My apologies for not being in touch for awhile. Since the last newsletter, we’ve welcomed our third grandchild, a boy named Gideon. He was a delight to hold and be with as well as his siblings over Easter. Deb had a health scare but I am happy to say that after many tests and a biopsy, that it was not cancer and she is doing well. It was a tough couple of weeks as we navigated that situation and we are both relieved with the current outcome. Thank you for your love and support of us and MiraclesOne. Merry Christmas Course Lovers, Now that we're nearing the Christmas holiday, I find it so appropriate to be reviewing the "What Is a Miracle?" reading because of the Miracle's similarity to the light of the North Star. For ages, people have used the light of the North Star as a way of guiding them home after being away on a journey. In similar fashion, God placed the Light of the Miracle within us to be used as a way to guide us back to our home in heaven with Him. Hello Course Students, If you have ever experienced the painful loss of a pet whom you loved with all your heart, then this is the ACIM Insight video for you. This morning while working on Lesson 296: The Holy Spirit speaks through me today; I was completely surprised by an unexpected path of healing that the Holy Spirit took me down. Within a few minutes I found myself once again grieving the loss of a pet I lost four years ago this month. As I worked through the experience with the Holy Spirit, I received many messages that I believe were meant for all of us to hear. I think the experience is a great example of one of the many ways that the Holy Spirit can heal and communicate through us in an effort to help all. Peace & Blessings, Rev. Cheers Course Students, Over the past week we worked with Lessons 276 through 282 and read through, What is the Holy Spirit?. Besides having God as our Creator, the most important presence in our lives is the gift of the Holy Spirit given to us by God. Without Him we would never truly learn how to happily navigate through life and awaken from the dream of fear. Hello Course Students, In this week’s episode of A Course in Miracles I touch on the Lessons we worked this past week, Lessons 269 through 275, plus I shared insights on the reading, What is the Christ? I personally found this to be pleasant and joyful reading because Jesus explains very clearly in just a few paragraphs exactly what our reality is with God, the Holy Spirit and one another. The supporting Lessons are also exciting because they’re teaching us how to awaken the dormant psychic abilities we all have, so that we can learn how to see and hear the Christ within us. Cheers Mighty Companions! Over the past week we worked with Lessons 255 through 261 in the Workbook for Students, and reviewed the reading, What Is the Body? In this reading, Jesus explains that we, as the Son of God, made an image of a body for ourselves that is used to fence us off from the awareness of heaven. It is also a home of fear that has been distorted in our minds to be a place of safety. In this episode of Insights on A Course in Miracles, I share an insight I received from the Holy Spirit about our awakening process. As students of A Course in Miracles, our curiosity has us peeking over the fence line to see what is on the other side. Of course, it’s the Holy Spirit who is gently calling us to come home. One day, we will happily jump over the fence and run joyfully across the lawns to heaven back home. What a wonderful thought! Many Blessings, Rev. Paul
In this episode of Insights on A Course in Miracles, we take a look at the illusion of the world and the belief in the illusion of "sin". These topics were inspired from the lessons we worked on over the past two weeks (Lessons 241 through 254) and their respective readings, What Is the World? and What is Sin? Once again, Jesus reminds us that the world and everything we experience within it is an illusion. I found it helpful to relate it to a novel that an author might write. In many novels, whole new worlds, lands, beings and sets of mythical laws are created from the imagination of an author. The readers then lose themselves in the stories for their own entertainment. Jesus explains that we did something similar as the Son or Daughter of God. We drafted an illusion of a physical world that blocks out the awareness of God, then allowed ourselves to become lost within the journey almost indefinitely. Then, to add more drama to the story, our ego minds drafted painful beliefs about ourselves and others such as evilness, sinfulness, and guilt. What a mess! Thank God, Jesus has given us a solution to waking up from the story and closing the book once and for all. Keep working those Lessons! Many Blessings, Rev. Cheers Course Students, This past week we worked on Lessons 234 through 240 in the Workbook for Students. One of the things that many students struggle with when going through the Lessons for the first time is the struggle to give up the thinking mind. Prior to working with A Course in Miracles, the ego mind became used to trying to figure things out with ourselves and our lives through analysis and contemplation. A key thing to realize is that this is only a delaying maneuver and will only waste time. Try to recognize when you are doing this and then stop and give yourself permission to set it aside. The Lessons we are working with now are teaching us how to go within and simply commune with God. Remember to give up your thoughts and to practice having no thoughts during your meditations, and then just wait for the Holy Spirit to bring forth waves of peace within you. Greetings Course Students, In this episode of Insights on A Course in Miracles is a reminder that we are learning how to let the Light of God do the forgiving work for us. In my experience, this is most easily accomplished through our practice of meditation. When we go within to consult with the Holy Spirit, he will remind us to forget about "trying" to forgive but instead to practice reaching the Light and letting It "do" the forgiving for us. This is a big difference when compared to the way that we were taught about the practice of forgiveness by many religious traditions. The practice is not easy at first because we are so used to doing things for ourselves. So we practice during our meditations in "letting go" and "trusting God" to do it for us. Over the past two weeks we worked through Lessons 199 through 212 in the Workbook for Students. In this episode of Insights on A Course in Miracles I focus on the review lesson 212 which takes us back to a review of Lesson 192: I have a function God would have me fill. In this lesson, Jesus reminds us of the importance of forgiveness. I also share an experience I had with the Holy Spirit this morning where He helped me to heal an Inner Child that had been stuck in pain for many years. This past week we worked on Lessons 192 through 198 in the Workbook for Students. However, there was one Lesson that stood out and it was 196: It can be but myself I crucify. Within this lesson Jesus addresses a huge problem we all struggle with and that is the habit of having critical thoughts about other people. He explains that this habit keeps us trapped within the belief in separation and ultimately delays our awakening from the dream. Hello Course Students, One of the biggest problems we all struggle with throughout our lives are feelings of guilt and shame. They are a part of the nightmare we seem to be experiencing during our belief in our abandonment and separation from God. Over the past week we worked with Lessons 185 through 191 in the Workbook for Students. Lesson 190: I choose the joy of God instead of pain, really helps us to look at the problem of guilt and recognize how we've been in the habit of choosing pain in this form. Fortunately, as in all the Lessons, Jesus also provides us with the solution to giving up the weapon of guilt. Cheers Mighty Companions, This is a must-see episode of Insights on A Course in Miracles after this week’s practice of Lessons 178 through 184. I felt deeply drawn to Lesson 183, I will be still an instant and go home, then guided to talk about it for unknown reasons until I did the actual video recording. What came out brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart because I felt the Love of God speaking through me in the moment.
