The heart of the Christmas story is that God loved and loves us enough to send His son to be manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory, so that we might be forgiven and saved.

Jesus became one of us, and dwelt among us, that He might die for us.

When the Bible gives us a way of living, we ought to follow that way to the best of our ability, no matter what, just as Jesus, our ultimate example, did.

The message doesn't change from Jerusalem to Athens to Atwater.

While we are to esteem, respect, and honor all people... while we are to live in reverential awe and obedience toward God, we are, alongside these important responsibilities, to show respect and submit to those whom God has placed in positions of authority.

Living holy lives that avoid sin has benefit not only to us, but also to those observing us.

The only message that matters is the gospel message. Have you heard it? Have you responded to it? (NOTE - This message was preached on a Sunday when a missionary from Trans World Radio presented that ministry, and when we were heavily into the Operation Christmas Child ministry as well.)

Jesus is the cornerstone of the church and of the believer's life.

Everything depends on your response to the Word of God.

Pastor Phil Ross preaches on 1 John 4:7-21 - the irreducible minimum of love.

As born again believers, we ought to love one another, and we ought to love God's Word.

OLD FASHIONED SUNDAY MESSAGE - The good news of Jesus Christ is unchanging and unchangeable - the same yesterday, today, and forever!

What we are in Christ and what we have in Him, ought to translate into our being thoughtful and hopeful, obedient and holy, fearful and mindful.

We can endure trials when we remember who we are in Christ, and what we have in Him.

We need, just as these pilgrims needed, a theology of how to live in times of suffering and hardship, and that is what we will get from 1 Peter.

By pushing out wrong thoughts, and replacing them with right thoughts... by meditating on right things, Christians can win the battle for our minds.

Jesus sees what we do for Him, no matter how small, and promises reward.

God, in His sovereign plan for us, perfectly and beautifully orders the times and seasons of our lives, that we might now Him and be drawn to Him and turn our lives over to Him.
