Miriam Rodriguez was born and raised in San Fernando, Tamaulipas. Miriam's youngest daughter, Karen, was taken by the cartel and even though the Rodriguez family payed the ransom money, the cartel did not return Karen. He's suspected to have killed and dismembered 20 hitchhikers in Mexico but was convicted for the murder of his boyfriend. On November 13, 1985, the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano erupted. It destroyed everything in its path. The town of Armero lost 20,000 of it's 29,000 residents and the town of Chinchina lost 3,000 peoople. Today, Armero remains a ghosttown and is said to be haunted by the spirts of those that died when the volcano exploded.
