The United States has a version made with corn syrup called divinity. In the United States, modern candy bar makers use a different recipe than the traditional nougat...it's a mixture of sucrose and corn syrup aerated with a whipping agent such as egg white or hydrolyzed soy protein or gelatin. It is the preferred and often used ingredient of large candy companies because it is inexpensive to make and used as a filler....but just know...it's different than true nougat.

They are typically made from wheat flour or buckwheat flour, then filled, rolled, and then often topped with a glaze, fruit, chocolate or whipped cream. In Bavaria, crepes are called palatschinke. The name ‘palatschinke’ comes from the Latin word ‘placenta,’ which is derived from the Greek word ‘plakous,’ meaning ‘flatbread.’ While similar to a French crepe, the Bavarian crepe batter doesn't need to rest before using. Crepes originated from France but, back then, crepes were mostly consumed as bread. The reason behind the popularity of Bavarian crepes is because they are generously filled with rich Bavarian cream. so they're more of a treat than an everday breakfast

It was only in the 20th century that the world got its first real automatic doors. This invention began with American engineers Horace Raymond and Sheldon Roby, who designed an automatic door in 1931 that was installed in a restaurant in Connecticut... and would open for waiters carrying plates of food and drink. Still, the world recognizes American engineers Dee Horton and Lew Hewitt as the brains behind today’s automatic doors. Their invention, created in 1954, used hidden sensors to automatically open doors...and today automatic doors are not only convienent...they're mandatory on all new buildings

There have been several claims to the origin of the sloppy Joe....also called yum-yums and slush burgers. The most popular claim states that the sandwich made its debut in 1920, Havana, Cuba. A bartender called José Otero. José created and successfully sold a simple sandwich based on a Cuban dish of shredded beef, tomato sauce, and spices called Ropa Vieja. He also sold iced seafood, which would often melt and get the bar floor wet and sloppy...customers linked the two and called him ‘sloppy Joe.’ Ironically, the name stuck to both him and the sandwich. In 1969, Hunt’s, a ketchup maker, introduced the ‘Manwich,’ which made a more convenient way to prepare the sloppy Joe.  The ground beef filling can be replaced with chicken, chuck roast, or turkey.  the sloppy Jane is considered the healthier version of sloppy Joe make with either jackfruit or tofu..making it a vegan sandwich

There was a time (and some gardeners still do this today) when strawberry beds were mulched with straw, insulating the plants over the winter, keeping weeds at bay during the growing season, and making them easier to harvest. they are sweet and also delightfully low in calories...and they are not technically considered a berry as its seeds are on the outside— in fact, it’s the only fruit with external seeds, giving it its own special category.  Strawberries have grown in the wild for thousands of years, and it was the French who first brought this delicious red berry into their gardens for cultivation in the 1300's.  although they are grown in every state...75% of U.S. strawberries are grown in California

High in fiber and low in fat and calories, this root vegetable is a healthful alternative to snack foods when prepared without added butter, sugar, or salt. When storing your sweet potatoes, keep them in a cool, dry place. However, don't refrigerate them unless they're cooked. Refrigeration will give them a bitter taste, ruining their sweet flavor.
