Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

HOUR 1 The Yankees and Mets seasons got off to two very different starts. The Yankees swept the Astros in Houston and Juan Soto was dominant at the plate. The Mets get swept at home by the Brewers and Rhys Hoskins cemented himself as a Mets enemy. Fans were mad that Pete Alonso was on stage with Zach Bryan after losing their first two games. Fans are mad at the Mets dance team. Everything is spiraling. Boomer said it’s a bad look for Alonso to do that publicly on Saturday night when you have a 1pm game the next day. Boomer said the Mets need JD Martinez in the lineup as soon as possible. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with audio of Juan Soto’s RBI single. We also heard John Sterling’s Soto HR call. No one gets the ‘Soto photo’ reference. We heard from Howie Rose as the Mets were swept. Josh Hart said after last night’s game that they prepare like Anunoby and Randle will not be back this season. In the final segment of the hour, The Jets get edge rusher Haasan Reddick. That came out of nowhere. The Jets are in a moment now where they have to go for it, because after Aaron Rodgers retires, they are going to have to start over with a new QB. We talked about the QBs in the upcoming draft and where JJ McCarthy and Michael Penix will land.  HOUR 2 The Yankees started the season in the best way possible and the Mets the worst way possible. A caller said Soto is already a Yankee and cannot go to the Mets at any price. Gio can’t believe people believe the story of Easter, but nobody believes Shohei Ohtani. Boomer said he hasn’t heard anybody talking about Ohtani lately. Maybe the Diddy story took over instead. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Burdi’s great play at third base in yesterday’s game in Houston. Pete Alonso joined Zach Bryan on stage Saturday night in the middle of the Mets getting swept. Jazz Chisolm was not happy with the Marlins having the roof open. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. LeBron said he doesn’t have many more seasons left. Caitlin Clark is fired up for Iowa vs LSU tonight. Jerry has audio of Evan Roberts vs Spike Eskin about Evan going to Mets opening day instead of coming to work. Evan called him a ‘dildo head’. Gio is not contributing to this ‘ruse’. In the final segment of the hour, there was a problem with the 3-point lines being different in an NCAA womens’ game. Boomer watched some UFL football over the weekend and kind of liked it.  HOUR 3 Boomer thinks the Knicks ran out of gas last night against the Thunder. We also talked about the Rangers and Boomer thinks they’re giving up too many goals even though they’re winning. A caller talks about people backing into parking spots at the garage at UBS arena. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Yankees and the great catch by Verdugo to end yesterday’s game. What did Sterling’s ‘Soto Photo’ call even mean? Jon Berti also made a great force play at third. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer said they are building a cricket field and stadium on Long Island for World Cup matches. Boomer said it’s a very difficult ticket to get.  HOUR 4 Boomer is looking over the cricket schedule for next year on Long Island. Gio said it’s going to be a traffic nightmare when the World Cup is there. Boomer said the Mets are just off to a bad start and it doesn’t mean they are going to be bad all season. Boomer liked Jeff McNeil vs Rhys Hoskins. Gio said there was nothing to like about it. Boomer didn’t like the slide and many callers think Boomer is wrong. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees sweeping the Astros and the great debut of Juan Soto in a Yankee uniform. The Knicks lost to the Thunder last night. LSU head coach Kim Mulkey pulled a Mike Gundy. She doesn’t want the press going at the players. They were called, ‘dirty debutantes’. The Moment of The Day involves Evan Roberts calling Spike a ‘dildo head’. In the final segment of the show, Boomer wonders if Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will ‘Evan & Spike’ it or fight for real.

HOUR 1 The Yankees won their first game of the season, coming back down 4-0 to win 5-4. Boomer said they, ‘played with the heart of a champion’. Chris McMonigle called it the greatest opening day of his lifetime. Seems like a bit much. Boomer is wearing his Yankees sweatshirt that he claims isn’t a Yankees sweatshirt. Gio will not be able to hear Boomer say, ‘Juan Soto’ over and over again. Gio feels good about the Mets this season only because Jerry does and last year Jerry thought the Texas Rangers would be good and he was right. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with the sounds from yesterday’s Yankees opening day win in Houston. We heard from one of the heroes, Juan Soto. The Knicks start the day second in the East. UCONN pummeled San Diego State in the NCAA tournament. In the final segment of the hour, Joe Girardi joined the YES Network booth yesterday. Girardi was let go after losing game 7 of the ALCS. Aaron Boone’s Yankees haven’t gotten that far yet. Boomer liked that Girardi and Cashman seemed to have buried the hatchet. FUBO-TV added the YES Network yesterday.  HOUR 2 Even though we don’t have huge expectations for the Mets, if this season goes sideways, then the fans are going to turn on David Stearns. Everyone has the Mets either third or fourth in the NL East. Gio just wants them to keep it interesting for as long as they can. Gio told us in high school he used to wear popular urban clothing brands. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio of Al on social media complaining about people not picking up dog poop in Bradley Beach, NJ. Jerry also has audio of a man at a Texas city council meeting telling them why they need to legalize sports gambling and his no lose betting techniques. UNC hoops player Armando Bacat said he got hundreds of DMs telling him he sucks for not getting enough rebounds for a prop bet. In the final segment of the hour, LSU head coach Brian Kelly seemed to slip and say Jayden Daniels would be getting the ball into the hands of the playmakers in Washington. One mock draft has Michael Penix going to the Giants. Boomer wonders where JJ McCarthy will wind up.  HOUR 3 SNY Mets broadcaster Ron Darling joins us to talk about Mets opening day and what we can expect from the Mets this season. Gio asked Ron about David Stearns and why Mets fans should trust his vision. We also talked about Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry getting their numbers retired this year. Cameron Maybin posted on twitter and said he should be in the booth as many commentators talk over pitches and don’t let the game breathe. Gio said the company is at a fork in the road as far as choosing a new Program Director. There’s a boring choice and a not so boring choice. Gio really seems to have some scuttlebutt about the potential new program directors. Gio said one of the names would be a ‘bombshell spot’. Jerry is here for his final update of the day and starts with Juan Soto talking about his tremendous throw to the plate in the ninth inning. Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

HOUR 1 Mitchell Robinson returned and the Knicks destroyed the Raptors last night, 145-101. If the Knicks go deep into the playoffs, Boomer thinks Tom Thibodeau should be considered for coach of the year. Gio does not see any way in which the Knicks will ‘lay an egg’ in the playoffs. Gio wonders how we will remember this Knicks and Rangers team when we think about them in the future. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about the Mets game being postponed to tomorrow. Gio said he would go to way more games if there was a retractable roof at Citi Field. Jerry has the sounds from last night’s Knicks win. Draymond Green was thrown out of the game last night after only 4 minutes. In the final segment of the hour, the NFL and the college football playoffs will be going head to head the Saturday before Christmas. Boomer wonders which division in the NFL will be the most competitive.  HOUR 2 Yankees opening day is today and they open up in Houston, their mortal enemies. Expectations seem really low for Giancarlo Stanton. How many games will Stanton, Judge and Soto all be in the lineup? Anthony in Belleville, NJ is calling today’s Yankees game a ‘must win’. Jerry returns for another update and starts with audio in relation to Yankees opening day. Aaron Boone talked about what they’re doing without DJ to start the season. James Harden doesn’t ever see a time where he and Daryl Morey will patch things up. The Knicks blew out the Raptors last night. Saquon Barkley was on with the Kelce brothers podcast and he explained why he had a problem with Tiki Barber. Tiki Barber then responded to that yesterday. We also talked about the issues with the transfer portal and college athletes. The NCAA wants to stop prop betting involving college athletes. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer tried to schedule a colonoscopy and the earliest date they have is November 6th.  HOUR 3 Colleen Wolfe from NFL media said a credible source told her that Rob Saleh and Woody Johnson had a heated argument at the end of the winter meetings. Connor Hughes of SNY responded on Twitter saying he was right near them and nothing of the sort happened. So once again we have a Jets story because they are always the butt of jokes, whether it’s true or not. Boomer also revealed he cuts hamburgers and sausage sandwiches in half. Gio said you can’t do that or all the juices come out. Jerry returns for an update, but first we have audio from a few years ago when Boomer kept talking about Juan Soto and it drove Jerry crazy. Jerry went nuts and just kept yelling ‘Juan Soto’. Mike Francesa talked about dealing with ‘multiple banks’ in relation to the Ohtani stuff. Chris Russo is not happy with the Eagles in Brazil being on Peacock. In the final segment of the hour, many women have taken to Tik Tok to talk about getting punched in the face randomly on the streets of NYC.  HOUR 4 Boomer started the hour by bringing up the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse in Baltimore. Gio doesn’t know anything about the Mayor down there, but he was impressed with how he handled the press conference for being a young guy. We then talked about Yankees opening day and what we can expect for them this year. This should be an all in year with having Juan Soto. Frank The Tank from Barstool calls in to promote his upcoming walk with Boomer. We talked about how dangerous NY city is. Gio said, ‘if you hang around the barbershop too long, you’re getting a haircut’. Boomer said he doesn’t know what that means, so Gio explains. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees as their season gets underway in Houston. Nick Saban claims to have sent his first email now that he’s retired. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about taking their show live from Atlanta. CBS NY Anchor Dana Tyler said goodbye as she is retiring. She dated singer Phil Collins for many years. The Moment of The Day involved Boomer getting duped by an online story about Draymond Green. In the final segment of the show, Caleb Williams was on the broadcast for an NCAA women’s basketball game and was seen with a pink phone case, pink painted nails and lip gloss.
